She is best-known for her roles in top-grossing movies The Mask, My Best Friend's Wedding, There's Something About Mary, and Charlie's Angels. Cameron Michelle Diaz was born on August 30, 1972 in San Diego, California. Her father, Emilio Diaz is a Cuban-American who used to work as a foreman for an oil company. Her mother, Billie Early is of Italian, German, and Native American descent and used to work as an import-export agent. Cameron has always been exceptionally beautiful and when she was just 16 she left school to pursue a career in modeling with the Elite modeling agency. In 1994, when she was 21, Cameron returned to California to try her luck in Hollywood. She soon landed the lead role in the comedy The Mask opposite Jim Carrey. The film became a big success and Cameron impressed people with her fresh beauty. Cameron then took acting lessons and appeared in a string of low-budget films, such as The Last Supper (1995), She's the One (1996), and Feeling Minnesota (1996). Cameron's next big success came in 1997 with the film My Best Friend's Wedding (1997) co-starring Julia Roberts. However, it was in 1998 with the hit comedy There's Something About Mary that Cameron became a household name and one of Hollywood's hottest celebrities. That year, she appeared in a cameo role in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and also starred in the black comedy Very Bad Things as Jon Favreau's unbalanced fiancée. In 1999, Cameron portrayed the role of puppeteer John Cusack's wife in Being John Malkovich. For this role, she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globes, the BAFTA Awards and the SAG Awards. In 2000, Cameron starred along with Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu in the action thriller comedy Charlie's Angels, a remake of the television classic. In 2001, Cameron lent her voice to the character of Princess Fiona in the smash hit animation Shrek. She also worked with Tom Cruise in Vanilla Sky. In 2002, she worked in the comedy The Next Best Thing. She also worked in director Martin Scorsese's Gangs of New York. In 2003, she became the second actress after Julia Roberts to be offered 20 million dollars for the film Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. Like the earlier part, the sequel did very well commercially. In 2004, Cameron was involved in another hit film Shrek 2, which became the third-highest grossing film in history. In 2005, Cameron was seen as hostess on the MTV reality show Trippin'. She also produced the show in which Cameron and her celebrity friends trip across the world to explore various natural environments. It seems there is still a lot about this blue-eyed blonde beauty.
