Videos more videos      Biography Christina Applegate is an Emmy Award-winning American actress. She is more popular for her comic roles and film parodies. Christina Applegate was born on November 25, 1971 at Hollywood, California. Her mother Nancy Priddy was a soap star actress and her father Robert Applegate was a record-company executive. Her parents parted ways after she was born, and her father remarried. Christina has a younger half-sister and a younger half-brother. Christina made her acting debut at the age of five when she appeared with her mother on the television series Days of Our Lives. Her fist movie appearance was at the age of 10 when she appeared with her mother in the low-grade horror flick Jaws of Satan (1981). She played Grace as a child in the TV biopic Grace Kelly (1983). Over the next few years Christina guest starred on several TV shows. She landed her first permanent series role in the short-lived Heart of the City (1986). She tasted real success in 1987 when she debuted on the Fox TV Network's show Married...With Children. She played the role of ditzy and promiscuous Kelly Bundy, in the dysfunctional Bundy family. Though the series was criticized in its early days for being overtly vulgar, it became one of Fox's first signature hits and ran for 10 seasons. Christina's desire to pursue acting forced her to quit school at the age of 17 to concentrate on her acting career. In 1990, she displayed her serious acting talents in the gritty drama Streets (1990) where she played a prostitute and drug addict. In 1991, she appeared in the teen comedy Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead (1991). In 1992, she appeared in Bundyful Life, a spoof of holiday movie It's a Wonderful Life (1946). Over the next few years, she appeared in many teen/comedy films such as, Across the Moon (1994), Vibrations (1995), Western Wild Bill (1995), Mars Attacks! (1996), and Nowhere (1997). She also appeared in a slew of television shows including: 21 Jump Street, Top of the Heap (as Kelly Bundy), host of Mad TV, and Pauly. After the last day of Married...With Children Christina took the role of the title character of the NBC sitcom, Jesse (1998). In 1999, Jesse's role won Christina the People's Choice Award for Favorite Female Performer in a New TV series, and the TV Guide Award for Star of a New Series. However, the critically acclaimed Jesse didn't last long on the air and was canceled after a two-year run. In 2002, Christina co-starred with Cameron Diaz, in the comic movie The Sweetest Thing. In 2006, she appeared in Jessica Simpson's music video "A Public Affair", alongside Eva Longoria, Ryan Seacrest and Christina Milian. Christina married her longtime boyfriend Johnathon Schaech, on October 20, 2001. On December 5, 2005, the publicists of Applegate and Schaech confirmed that they had filed for divorce in the Los Angeles Superior Court.
