Biography
Katie Price is a British fashion model. She is better known as Jordan and is known for her Page 3 topless modeling in The Sun newspaper.
Originally named Katie Infield, Katie was born on May 22, 1978 in Newport, Wales. Her parents split when she was a child. When her mother remarried, she changed her surname from Infield to Price. She grew up in the seaside town of Brighton in Sussex.
Young Katie was good at swimming, gymnastics, and horseback riding. It was on the suggestion of a friend that she took up modeling and sent her photographs to a modeling agency. The agency liked her pictures and she was soon seen topless on the Page 3 section of The Sun newspaper. She started to use the pseudonym Jordan for her modeling and became very popular.
In 1998, Katie auditioned for a part in the popular television series Baywatch, but was turned down. Feeling insecure about her chest size, she decided to have silicon implants to increase her breast size from B to D. However, having the plastic surgery made her contract with The Sun void. The newspaper follows a policy of featuring only natural busted silicon-free women.
Katie was now free to do more implants. Her breast size increased to 34 FF with three implants. In 2002, Playboy gave her maximum exposure featuring her on its cover of September issue. She also released her own calendar that year.
Katie is famous for her wild behavior in nightclubs and is a favorite with the paparazzi. Her relationships with celebrities are often publicized. She has had relationships with football star Teddy Sheringham, showjumper Oliver Skeete, and television actor Warren Furman. A fling with British singer Dane Bowers ended in her getting pregnant and having an abortion.
In May 2002, she gave birth to her first child, Harvey Daniel. The child's father is Manchester United star Dwight Yorke. However, their relationship ended before the birth of the child. Unfortunately, Harvey was born blind due to the improper development of his optic nerve. Many have blamed Katie's drinking habits during her pregnancy for the misfortune.
In 2002, Katie became the subject of a trilogy of documentaries, Jordan: The Truth About Me (2002), Jordan: The Model Mum (2003) and Jordan: You Don't Even Know Me (2004).
In 2004, Katie appeared in the British reality series I'm a Celebrity: Get Me Out of Here, where she met Australian singer Peter Andre. In June 2005, Katie gave birth to their first child, Junior Andre. They soon married in September 2005.
Katie has also ventured into books. In 2004, she wrote her first book, Being Jordan. The book was received well and has sold over 500,000 copies. In 2006, she released her second book, Jordan: A Whole New World. This book sold 300,000 copies in the first six weeks of its release. Katie seems to be venturing into a new world and no doubt she will be popular there as well.
