Victoria Silvstedt
Biography Victoria Silvstedt is a Swedish fashion model and actress. She is best known for being the Playmate of the Year in 1997 and for being the first runner-up in the 1993 Miss Sweden contest. Victoria Silvstedt was born on September 19, 1974 in Skellefteå, Sweden. She has two siblings, an older sister and a younger brother. Young Victoria was somewhat of a tomboy and was highly interested in sports. She was part of the Swedish National Ski Team and in the Super-Giant Slalom was ranked as high as number four among her Olympic teammates. However, she had a shoulder injury and had to bid farewell to her skiing career when she was 16. Victoria supposedly never wore heels, but all this changed when her mother and sister entered her into the 1993 Miss Sweden Beauty Pageant without Victoria's knowledge. She went on to be the runner-up in the pageant. At the Miss World contest, she reached the final eight. A modeling agent based in Paris soon signed her. She went on to model for various companies including Chanel, Christian Dior, Loris Azzaro, Givenchy, Valentino, and Giorgio Armani. In 1996, Victoria got her big break when she was approached by Hugh Hefner to pose in his magazine Playboy. She appeared on the centerfold in the December issue of Playboy that year. She went on to become the Playmate of the Year in 1997. She subsequently appeared in many North American men's magazines, such as GQ, Maxim, For Him Magazine, and Gear. Victoria soon landed a contract as a spokesmodel for Guess? jeans, following in the footsteps of models Eva Herzigova and Shana Zadrick. In 2001, Victoria ventured into music and released her album Runaway girl. It was certified gold in Europe and included the hit singles Hello, Hey, and Rocksteady love. Victoria has appeared in minor roles in various Hollywood film including Boat Trip, The Independent, Baseketball, and Out Cold. She has also acted in lead roles in European films based in Italy. This sexy blonde is also taking part in North American theatre. Victoria also ventured in to hosting when she hosted on The Late Show on Virgin Radio. She next went on to be a guest host on the Television show Eurotrash. She has also appeared on American television shows Melrose Place and MTV's The Real World. In 2006, Victoria became the hostess in the French version of the Wheel of Fortune along with Christophe Dechavanne On the personal front, Victoria got married to WCBS-TV Sports telecaster, Chris Wragge in June 2000 at Tuxedo Park Country Club in Tuxedo, New York.
