Videos more videos Biography Rosanna Arquette is an Emmy Award-winning American actress, director, and producer. She is best-known for her role in Susan Seidelman's sleeper Desperately Seeking Susan (1985). Rosanna Lauren Arquette was born on August 10, 1959 in New York City. Acting is in her genes. Her father, Lewis Arquette is an actor and her grandfather was an actor and comedian. Her siblings, David, Patricia, Richmond, and Alexis Arquette are also actors. It was no surprise when Rosanna ventured into acting. When Rosanna was 17, she made her acting debut in a theatre production, Metamorphosis. In 1977, Rosanna made her television debut with Having Babies II. She went on to appear as troubled teenager in many televisions series and films. In 1982, she gave a great performance as Nicole Baker in the television film The Executioner's Song, a film about convicted killer Gary Gilmore. She received an Emmy award for her performance. In 1979, Rosanna made her big-screen debut in More American Graffiti. Her first starring role came in 1983 with John Sayles' romantic drama Baby It's You. In 1985, Rosanna played the lead role in the smash hit Desperately Seeking Susan opposite Madonna. The film brought recognition to Rosanna and promised a bright future. Rosanna then went on to do many diverse movies, such as Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction (1994) in which she acts in a small role as a junkie, David Cronenberg's Crash (1996), Buffalo '66 (1998), Sugar Town (1999) in which she plays a sex symbol and actress, and the comedy The Whole Nine Yards (2000). However, these films did not quite tap the potential of Rosanna. In 2000, Rosanna played the role of an ageing virgin in Too Much Flesh. However, the film was not released in US. The following year in 2001, she gave a memorable performance in Allison Anders' Things Behind the Sun. She was also seen in a small role in the David Spade comedy Joe Dirt (2001). She also played the role of a woman struggling with her compulsive sexuality in Diary of a Sex Addict (2001). In 2003, Rosanna appeared in the made for television film Rush of Fear. She also worked in the comedy film Max and Grace (2003). Rosanna has also forayed into producing and directing. She directed and produced the documentaries Searching for Debra Winger (2002) and All We Are Saying (2005). In the critically acclaimed documentary Searching For Debra Winger, Rosanna interviews prominent and successful respected actresses to find if it was practical to successfully maintain a family for a working actress. On the personal front, Rosanna married to director/composer Tony Greco when she was 19 and they got divorced in October 1980. In 1986, she married composer James Newton Howard but the marriage did not last long. In 1993, Rosanna married restaurateur Jon Sidel and they have a daughter, Zoe Blue Sidel. However, this marriage also ended in a divorce.
