Biography
Sienna Rose Miller is a British actress and model of American origin. She is best known for her former relationship with actor Jude Law. She is also known for her television roles in The Ride aka Joy-Rider, Bedtime, and Keen Eddie.
Sienna Miller was born in New York City on December 28, 1981. Her parents got divorced when she was very young and she moved to England with her mother. Her father, Ed Miller is an American banker and money was never a problem for her. She went to a boarding school in Ascot. Her mother, Jo who had always been involved with arts ran London's Lee Strasberg drama school.
After school, Sienna discovered her passion for acting and joined the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York. She started performing in plays including The Striker, Independence, and Oscar-winning director Anthony Minghella's Cigarettes & Chocolate.
While in New York, she was offered a chance to model professionally by the Select Model Management agency. Sienna started modeling immediately and returned to England. She modeled for Coca Cola, Pepe Jeans, Italian Vogue, Prada, and the 2003 Pirelli Calendar. She also appeared topless and smoking a cigarette in the Vanity Fair magazine's 2006 Hollywood Issue.
It was television that made people take more notice of Sienna. In 2002, she had a guest-starring role in Fox's TV series, The American Embassy (2002). After her role in the BBC television series Bedtime (2001), she landed a seven-year contract with Paramount Pictures.
As part of the deal with Paramount Pictures, Sienna landed a role in Simon West's television action drama Keen Eddie (2003). Though the show was cancelled after only 13 episodes, Sienna received critical acclaim for her performance as sassy Fiona Bickerton in a love-hate relationship with a New York City police officer working on an assignment in London.
Sienna also nursed dreams of making it big in the movies and got her chance when she was signed by PFD talent agency. She made her film debut with South Kensington in 2001 along with Rupert Everett and Elle Macpherson. Her career got a boost and she was seen in High Speed (2002) and The Ride aka Joy-Rider (2002).
In 2004, Sienna got minor roles in the films Layer Cake and Alfie. On the sets of Alfie, she met and fell in love with the Academy Award nominated actor Jude Law. Their relationship received a lot of press as Jude Law had just been divorced from his wife, Sadie Frost. Though Alfie did not do well, Sienna came into public notice with this relationship and was cast in a supporting role in Casanova (2005) starring Heath Ledger. Sienna split with Jude Law after he confessed to an affair with his children's nanny.
