Biography
Sung-Hi Lee is a Korean American fashion model and actress. She is best known for her nude photo shoots and appearances in Playboy magazine.
Sung Hi Lee was born on April 1, 1970 in Seoul, South Korea. Her father's job took her to the United States in 1978 and they shifted from one city to another. Due to the constant change in schools, she hardly had a school life and became a serious student. She planned to study sports medicine. However, destiny had other plans for her.
When she was studying at Ohio State University a full scholarship student, Sung Hi went to visit her friend in Washington D.C. who introduced her to her friend who was a Playboy scout and photographer. Struck by her beauty, he asked her to pose for the magazine. Sung-Hi refused at first but gave in after he kept on insisting for the next few months.
Sung-Hi next worked as a Hawaiian Tropic model. While on a shoot at Montreal, she was selected to be part of a Hawaiian Tropic special by the Playboy magazine.
Sung-Hi then quit her studies to focus on her modeling and acting career. At an audition, she ran into the West Coast director for Playboy. She again posed for the magazine and continued to do so for many years. From 1993 to 1998, she was seen in over 12 of Playboy's Book of Lingerie. In 1996, she appeared on the cover of the magazine and became the first Asian model to appear solo on the cover. She was also featured in Playboy Specials including Sexy Swimsuits, Wet & Wild, Girls of Summer, Cover Girls, Women of Color, and Supermodels. She was also featured on the covers of Playboy's German, Taiwan and French editions.
Sung-Hi has also graced the covers of other magazines like Working Woman Korea in 1997, 10th Anniversary issue of KOREAM in 2000. She has also posed for magazines like Sport (1996) and Yolk Magazine (1998).
Sung-Hi has also posed for calendars including the Pacific USA calendar in 1996, Black Pearl East Meets West calendar in 1997, 1998 and 2000, as well as the Black Pearl Sung Hi Lee calendar in 1997 and 1998.
Meanwhile, Sung-Hi has also ventured into acting with a recurring role on Mortal Kombat (1999). She has also appeared in guest roles in shows like Black Scorpion, Queen of Swords, and V.I.P.
Sung-Hi has also acted in the films Midnight Blue (1994); the television film Weapons of Mass Distraction (1996), A Night On the Water (1998) and Error in Judgment (1998), the Nurse Betty (2000), Chain of Command (2000), That Summer in LA (2000), This Girl's Life (2003), Christmas Vacation 2: Cousin Eddie's Island Adventure (2003), and The Girl Next Door (2004).
In 2002, Sung-Hi played the role of DC Comics villain Lady Shiva in the series Birds of Prey and the waitress Sophie on the popular soap Days of our Lives.
