Videos more videos      Biography Vanessa Angel is a British model and actress. She is best-known for her role as Lisa on the 1994-1997 television series Weird Science and the film Kingpin (1996). Vanessa Madeline Angel was born on November 10, 1966 in London, England. She started her modeling career when she was 14. When she was 16, she was signed up by Eileen Ford, the world-famous modeling agent and she shifted to New York. Vanessa went on to appear on the covers of fashion magazines such as Cosmopolitan and Vogue. In 1985, Vanessa changed her career direction to acting. She made her film debut as a Russian spy in John Landis' comedy, Spies Like Us, starring Chevy Chase and Dan Aykroyd in the roles of two confused government employees. After finishing her first film, Vanessa decided to pursue acting seriously and enrolled for professional acting lessons under Sondra Lee. In 1987, she joined The Actors Studio with Frank Corsaro as her instructor. Vanessa appeared in small roles in many films, such as Abel Ferrara's King of New York (1990) starring Christopher Walken and Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot (1992) starring Sylvester Stallone. In 1991 and 1992, Vanessa was cast as Megan on the popular television series Baywatch. Following this, she landed parts on series like Reasonable Doubts (1992-1993) and Melrose Place (1993). Vanessa was next seen in the ensemble cast of the romantic comedy Sleep With Me (1994). In 1994, Vanessa played the part of Lisa, the computer-generated ideal woman of two computer geeks in Weird Science, a television version of the 1985 John Hughes film of the same name. Weird Science ended in 1997 with 88 episodes providing Vanessa with a steady amount of work. During the making of Weird Science, Vanessa also landed the starring role in the Farrelly brothers' film Kingpin (1996), opposite Randy Quaid and Woody Harrelson. Around this time, she met actor Rick Otto, and they got married in April 1996. They have one daughter. After the success of Weird Science and Kingpin, Vanessa took a step backward going back to small roles in television and film. In 1997, she was seen in a couple of episodes on the television series Veronica's Closet. In 2000, Vanessa appeared in a recurring role on the television series Stargate SG-1 (1997). Vanessa also worked in films, such as Kissing a Fool (1998) opposite David Schwimmer, Sabretooth (2002), SuperBabies: Baby Geniuses 2 (2004) opposite Jon Voight and the made-for-TV movie Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys (2004). In 2004, Vanessa acted in The Perfect Score (2004), with Erika Christensen and Scarlett Johansson which went on to be a moderate success. She then went on to do Out for Blood (2004) with Kevin Dillon. In 2005, Vanessa appeared in an episode of the HBO series Entourage playing herself. She worked in several films since then, including Criminal Intent (2005), Popstar (2006), and Monster Night (2006).
