Biography
Ai Iijima was born as Matsue Okubo in Tokyo, Japan. She has a troubled childhood and wrote about it in her autobiography. In 1992 she made her adult video debut and appeared in over 100 films. She left the adult business, because she wanted a mainstream entertainment career and she released a single and became a regular guest on TV shows. She made one of the most successful transitions from porn to mainstream entertainment.
In 2007 she told that she wanted to retire from the show business. On december 24, 2008 she was found dead in her appartement. Police investigations showed that she had died of pneumonia and that the rumours about suicide weren't true.
