Biography
Lisa Snowdon is a British lingerie model, actress, and television presenter. She is best known for being the girlfriend of George Clooney.
Lisa Snowdon was born in 1971, in Welwyn Garden City, England. She shifted to London to join the Italia Conti School of Performing Arts. While there, she worked for some time as a waitress before a Premier Model Management agent spotted her while she was dancing in a London nightclub. She was 19 years old at that time and hasn't looked back since then.
Lisa then went on to appear in leading fashion magazines including Vogue, Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan, as well as various men's magazines, such as Maxim, Arena, Loaded, Sky, GQ, Esquire and For Him Magazine. She has worked with leading photographers including David Bailey, Nick Knight, Kim Knott, and Andre Rau. She has also been featured in two calendars of the For Him Magazine and has appeared on its cover in the 1999 edition of The Girls of FHM. She has made it to For Him Magazine's List of 100 Sexiest Women every year between 1996 and 2005 except for 1998.
Apart from modeling in magazines, Lisa has also done modeling for commercials. Her most famous commercial is for the Kellogg's Special K commercial in which she appeared in a red swimsuit. Another commercial she is identified with is a steamy commercial for Faberge's perfume called Addiction. In 2003, she went on to be the elevator girl in a commercial for Lynx deodorant.
Apart from these commercials, Lisa has also modeled for Dove soap, Gossard, Mercedes Benz, and Neutrogena.
In 1997, Lisa released her own album, Spell It Out. However, the album did not sell.
In 1999, Lisa starred in an obscure Channel 4 short film, A Man's Best Friend.
Lisa nevertheless found appreciation and success as a television presenter. She has hosted various shows including FightBox on BBC THREE with Trevor Nelson, MTV UK's Select, Top of the pops, The Big Breakfast, Radio 1's One Big Sunday, Miss World 2004, GMTV, Spring break Live, VH1's All Access, and various ITV Movie premiere shows.
In 2005, Lisa was chosen to be an ambassador for the Breast cancer care charity.
On the personal front, Lisa has had an on-off relationship for five years with George Clooney. They met while shooting for a Martini ad in Italy. The ad was not aired on American television but their romance took off and they were seen together at various public events on both sides of the Atlantic. In 2005, they broke up as Lisa didn't want to shift to Hollywood and George wasn't ready to settle down. Lisa has also been linked to actors Gary Dourdan and David Walliams.
