Biography
Stephanie McMahon is a well-known personality in the American professional wrestling arena. She is the daughter of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Chairman Vince McMahon and WWE CEO Linda McMahon.
Stephanie Marie McMahon was born on September 24, 1976 in Hartford, Connecticut. Stephanie passed out from the Greenwich High School and later attended Boston University to complete her degree in Communications.
Stephanie was born into a wrestling family and grew up with everything related to wrestling. Her first foray into the family business was when she started working backstage as a model for merchandise items. She then proceeded to work in the WWE's advertising department. Besides backstage work, Stephanie also regularly appeared on WWE's television shows between 1999 and 2003.
Stephanie was part of many popular storylines in her appearances on Smackdown and Raw television series. The most notable among these were her stalking and abduction by The Undertaker, her marriage to Triple H, and feuds with Chris Jericho, Test, and her own family members. During her onscreen days, Stephanie was also active in the ring and even won the WWE Women's Championship once.
Apart from appearing onscreen, Stephanie was also deeply involved in the day-to-day operations of her father's company. In November 2000, she started contributing to the creative direction taken by the company's television programs. In July 2003, she was named the Vice President of Creative Writing for WWE. In 2006, she was promoted to Senior Vice President of Creative Writing.
Stephanie married Paul Levesque, better known as the WWE superstar Triple H, on October 25, 2003. She adopted the name Stephanie McMahon-Levesque after her marriage.
Since her marriage, Stephanie has spent most of her time behind the camera. She is the creative spearhead of the company and supervises a team of scriptwriters churning innovative storylines for WWE television shows. She is considered quite influential within the WWE and is considered to have a say in the hiring and firing of employees. She is also actively involved in the production and directions of WWE's flagship shows, RAW and SmackDown!, and the company's pay-per-view events round the globe.
Besides WWE's television shows, Stephanie has also appeared on Punk'd, the Howard Stern show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, the Opie and Anthony show, and The Weakest Link.
WWE storylines in the past had suggested that Stephanie and Triple H's marriage had not worked and they had parted ways. However, these assertions were proven wrong when in January WWE announced that Stephanie and Triple H were expecting their first child. On July 24, 2006, Stephanie gave birth to an 8 lb, 7 oz (3.8 kg) baby girl, Aurora Rose Levesque.
Stephanie has contributed immensely to WWE with her creative prowess as well as her onscreen persona. There is a general consensus that Stephanie will take over the WWE's running when her father Vince McMahon steps down.
