Biography
Traci Bingham is an American actress and model. She is best-known for her role as Jordan Tate on the popular television series Baywatch and for posing for Playboy. She also has the credit of being the first African-American woman to appear as part of the regular cast in the series.
Traci was born on January 13, 1968 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Her mother is half Italian and half African-American and her father is American. She is the youngest among seven children. As a child, Traci took an active interest in sports along with her older brothers. She took part in swimming, track events and cross country racing. She even won the first prize in pole vaulting and hurdle jumping at a local fair.
After graduating from Cuyahoga Community College, Traci followed her parent's wishes and went to Harvard Extension School to study psychology. However, it was acting that she was really interested in.
Traci acted in many plays including West Side Story, Guys and Dolls, and Grease. After a year and a half, Traci quit her studies and headed to Hollywood. In 1994, she got her first break on television with a role in an episode in the series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (1994).
In 1995, she appeared as a party babe in Tales From the Crypt Presents: Demon Knight (1995). She was also seen in small roles in the television series Dream On (1995) and Married With Children (1996).
But it was as lifeguard Jordan Tate Baywatch in 1996 that brought Traci into the limelight (or shall we say sunlight?). She kind of made history since she was the first African-American to be a lifeguard on the show. She went on to act in the series for two years.
Traci's popularity got her the chance to pose for the magazine Playboy. She appeared in the June 1998 issue of the magazine. The spread managed to make Traci even more popular. She then appeared in a slew of magazine covers. She also made up for her loss of the Baywatch role by appearing in small roles on television shows such as Sin City Spectacular, The Jamie Foxx Show, Strip Mall, Malcolm & Eddie, and The Parkers.
In 1999, Traci appeared in the film Foolish. That year, she also got the role of Victoria Carrera in the film and television series The Dream Team, with Angie Everhart and Caprice Bourret. They play the roles of agents disguised as supermodels. She next appeared in The Private Public (2000).
In 2003, Traci appeared as Sandra Marshall in the film More Mercy. In 2004, Traci hosted the television show Lingerie Bowl.
On the romantic front, Traci got married to musician Robb Vallier in 1998. However, they separated after five years. She has allegedly had many breast enhancement and facial surgeries.
