Biography
Akebono was born as Chad Haakeo Rowan in Waimânalo, Hawai'i, in 1969. He was a sumo wrestler and his sumo career lasted 13 years. During his career, he became the first foreigner to reach the highest rank in sumo. After his career he started to work as a coach and opened a restaurant. He also appeared in TV commercials.
Due to money problems, he quit the coaching and started to fight again, but now he joined K-1. But he wasn't very successful and he only won one of the 12 matches he played.
