Videos more videos Biography Jodie Sweetin is an American actress. She is best known for her role as Stephanie Tanner on the television sitcom Full House that she portrayed for eight years. Jodie Leanne Sweetin was born on January 19, 1982 in Los Angeles, California. When Jodie was just four, she took her first step in the world of entertainment when she appeared in an Oscar Mayer hot dog commercial. In 1987, Jodie made her television debut in an episode of the series The Hogan Family. She played the role of Pamela, the niece of Mrs. Poole. She also appeared that year in the series Jim Henson Presents Mother Goose Stories. Jodie made an impression on creator Jeff Franklin with her acting skills and smile. Jeff went on to create a new sitcom Full House and give Jodie her big break. Sweetin was cast as role of Stephanie Tanner, and was on the show for its entire run until its cancellation in 1995. The show was a huge success and with its success Jodie also made a name for herself. Meanwhile, Jodie appeared in minor roles in the series MMC (1989) and ABC TGIF (1990). She also lent her vocals to the character of Lucy Van Pelt in It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown in 1992. After the end of the sitcom Full House, she took a break from her busy schedule and tried to lead a normal life. She went to school regularly like a normal teenager. After a year, in 1996, she appeared in an episode of the series Brotherly Love. She continued appearing occasionally in commercials for Cheerios, Kooshlings, Disneyland, and Sea World. In 1999, she graduated from Los Alamitos High School. She next joined the Chapman University in southern California. She completed her degree in mass communications in 2003. She wanted to work as an acting teacher. After finishing her high school, Jodie appeared in small roles in television series such as Party of Five (1999) as Rhiannon Marcus and Yes, Dear (2003) as Maryanne. In 2002, Jodie got married to police officer Shaun Holguin. Her colleagues from Full House as well as her friends and family attended the wedding. Full House co-star Candace Cameron's daughter, Natasha was her flower girl. However, the wedded bliss didn't last long. Shortly after her marriage, Jodie got addicted to the drug crystal meth. Her addiction lasted for two years till 2005 when she voluntarily sought therapy in a rehab center. Following her addiction, her husband filed for divorced because being married to her was threat to his job as a police officer. After getting out of her addiction, Jodie has returned to her acting career. In 2006, she started hosting the television show Dead on Arrival: The Chainsaw Awards Pre-Show. She also hosted the dance contest on Fuse TV, Pants-Off Dance-Off in which contestants strip down to their underwear to the tune of their favorite music.
