Biography
Christina Ricci was born on February 12, 1980 in Santa Monica, California. She is one of four children in her family. The family moved to Montclair, New Jersey, where she grew up attending Montclair High School, which could explain her cynical nature. She is of Irish-Scottish decent. Ricci made her cinematic debut at the age of nine alongside Cher and Winona Ryder in Mermaids. She is known for her witty, candid views on life and Hollywood in general.
Her debut in Mermaids earned her excellent critical reviews and led to numerous motion picture roles which count in excess of forty at this writing. Just a few of the most recognizable roles she has either starred in or had roles in, include, The Addams Family in 1991, The Cemetery Club in 1993, Casper in 1995, Now and Then in 1995, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas in 1998, 200 Cigarettes in 1999, Sleepy Hollow in 1999, Prozac Nation in 2001, Pumpkin in 2002, Monster in 2003 and Cursed in 2005. Needless to say, she has been a prolific actress over the years.
While she has starred in many major motion pictures she prefers independent films because she feels they are better written and lack the overabundance of melodrama sometimes found in Hollywood blockbusters. She started her own production company and produced several films including Prozac Nation and Pumpkin. The busty actress has a no nudity policy unless the nudity in question is for legitimate artistic reasons. She appeared naked for the first time in the film Prozac Nation.
Regarding her personal life, Ricci has several tattoos, including a bouquet of sweet peas on her lower back, a bat on her bikini line, a lion on her shoulder blade and others. She was dating actor Orlando Bloom for a short time and she began dating actor Adam Goldberg in 2006.
