Videos more videos Biography Michelle Marie Pfeiffer was born on April 29th, 1958 in Santa Ana, California. She is the second of four children in her family. Her father was a contractor and her mother a stay at home mom. She is of German and Swiss decent. Her family moved to Midway City while she was still a toddler. She graduated from Fountain Valley High School in 1976 and went on to attend Golden West Community College for a short time. She worked many odd jobs both while in High School and college. Her first job was in a clothing store at age fourteen. She later worked in a grocery store after leaving college. This was where she made a decision to try acting. She had heard that many agents attended beauty pageants, so she entered the Miss Orange County Beauty Pageant and won. She later went on to the Miss California pageant. She did not win this second title; however, she was able to obtain an agent from her entry. She soon began acting in television and movies, taking small parts throughout the late 1970's and early 1980's. In 1982 she landed a larger role in the film Grease II. The film did not do well at the box-office or with audiences, but it did get her noticed. She was soon cast in Scarface a year later with Al Pachino. The movie was a big success and Michelle's career began to take off. After Scarface she appeared in numerous films including: Into the Night, Ladyhawke, The Witches of Eastwick, Married to the Mob, Tequila Sunrise, Dangerous Liaisons, The Fabulous Baker Boys, Frankie and Johnny, The Age of Innocence, Dangerous Minds, One Fine Day, What Lies Beneath, I Am Sam, and White Oleander. She has enjoyed a phenomenal career in film and has been nominated for multiple Oscar nominations and was given Harvard's Hasty Pudding Award in 1995. On the personal front she adopted a little girl in March of 1993. She had already begun adoption proceedings when she began dating television producer of Chicago Hope, Alley McBeal, The Practice, etc., David E. Kelly; he was very supportive of her decision to adopt and they continued dating. The couple married in November of 1993 and later had a son together in 1994. Now that their children are older, Michelle has recently returned to acting and has made several new films including: I Could Never be Your Woman, Stardust and Hairspray. She continues to be one of the most sought after actress of the decade, despite taking time off to raise her children. Tidbits
