Videos more videos Biography Christina Milian is an American actress and R&B and pop singer of Cuban origin. She is best known for her songs Dip It Low, AM To PM, and When You Look At Me. She has also received a Grammy Award nomination for her album It's About Time. Christine Flores was born on September 26, 1981 in Jersey City, New Jersey. Her parents, Don and Carmen shifted to Waldorf, Maryland when she was just a baby. When Christina was just four, she did commercials for Wendy's and Honeycombs. She took an active interest in acting and made her stage debut with the lead role of Annie Warbucks in the musical play Annie. When she was 13, her family excluding her father shifted to Los Angeles to help her pursue a career in acting. Her father didn't support this move and her parents divorced soon after. In 1998, Christina got her first break when she landed the role of a reporter on the Disney Channel's Movie Surfers show. She was credited as Tina Flores. Soon, she was appearing in minor roles in a host of television series such as Charmed, Clueless, Sister, Smart Guy, Get Real, The Amanda Show, and The Steve Harvey Show. In 1999, Christina appeared in the film The Wood and also lent her voice to an animated character in the animated film A Bug's Life. Rodney Jerkins encouraged Christina to try out music. In 2000, she performed guest vocals Ja Rule's hit song Between Me and You from the album Rule 3:36. In 2001, Christina released her first solo song AM To PM from her debut album Christina Milian. The song was a hit worldwide and reached the top 5 in the UK and Denmark, top 10 in the Netherlands, and top 40 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. She then released her album worldwide but not in the US. The second single When You Look At Me was also a hit reaching the top 5 in the UK, Netherlands, and Ireland. In 2002, Christina landed the role of a host of the MTV television show Wannabes. The show's director Joseph Kahn suggested that she should audition for a lead role in the film Torque opposite Ice Cube. The audition landed her the lead role in Love Don't Cost a Thing (2003) opposite Nick Cannon. In 2004, Christina released her first album in US titled It's About Time. It included the super hit Dip It Low that topped the world composite dance chart and reached #2 in the UK, #5 in the U.S., #7 in New Zealand. Her album also received a nomination for the Grammy award for "Best Contemporary R&B Album" in 2005. In 2005, Christina appeared in the films Man of the House starring Tommy Lee Jones and Be Cool opposite John Travolta and Uma Thurman. In 2006, Christina was seen in a starring role in the horror film Pulse with Kristen Bell. In 2006, Milian was named #10 in Maxim's Hot 100. In 2006, Christina released the album So Amazin' which was moderately successful. She also appeared Jessica Simpson's video for A Public Affair along with Christina Applegate, Eva Longoria, Maria Menounos, Ryan Seacrest, and Andy Dick. On the personal front, Christina has been linked romantically with actor Nick Cannon, actor and singer Eric West, and rapper producer Dre.
