Biography
Anni Friesinger was born on January 11, 1977 in the spa town of Bad Reichenhall in Upper Bavaria Germany. She was born into a family of skaters. Her father is German Speed Skater Georg Friesinger and her mother is Polish Skater Janina (Jana) Korowicka, who was on the 1976 Polish Olympic team. Both her brother and sister are skaters as well. She is known as Sexy Anni, for her blond good looks and perfect athletic figure.
She is one of the worlds most renowned and honored female speed skaters. She has won four Olympic medals to date. Her first was a bronze in the 1998 Nagano Olympics, her second was a Gold in the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics; third and fourth were a Gold and a Bronze, respectively, both in 2006 in Turin.
When trying out for the German skating team to go to the 2006 Olympics she qualified for an unheard of five events. Many feel they are lucky if they qualify for one event. She qualified for both individual and team events and skated in both in 2006. In addition to her Olympic successes she is a five time champion of the European Allround and a three time Champion of the World Allaround best speed skater.
Anni has broken several records in her sport including the world record at the 1500 meter distance. That is amazing enough, but what is even more amazing is that Anni did it several times in her career! She also broke records in four different World Cup races and in the 2002 Winter Olympics. She has also broken a few hearts with her sex symbol status. She has posed for several swimsuit issues and for the popular German magazine Stern. Many predict that she will continue to break records and hearts in the coming years.
