Videos more videos Biography Myleene Klass is a British classical pianist, former member of the British pop band Hear'Say, and television presenter of Austrian and Filipino descent. She is best known for her CD Moving On as well as two Hear'Say albums, Popstars and Everybody. Myleene Angela Klass was born on 6 April 1978 in Norfolk, England. Her father, Oscar Klass worked as a ship captain and her mother, Magdalena was a homemaker. She has two younger siblings. Her grandfather was the head of the Vienna Opera. She inherited those musical genes. When she was just four, she started playing piano and her grandfather's violin. When she was 14 years old, she won a scholarship to the Guildhall School of Music in London. After finishing high school, Myleene landed a role in the West End musical Miss Saigon. She also did back vocals for Cliff Richards, K.D. Lang, and Michael Crawford. She was next accepted into the Royal Academy of Music as a post-graduate student. In January 2001, Myleene took part in the talent television show Popstars, in which the public would choose five members for a pop group. She was chosen for the band Hear'Say along with Noel Sullivan, Kym Marsh, Suzanne Shaw, and Danny Foster. In March that year, the band released their debut album, Popstars. It included the hit single Pure and Simple. They next released their second album Everybody in July that year. However, the public soon lost interest in the band and they split in 2002. In 2003, Myleene was offered both a pop and classical record contract with Universal Classics. It was a six-album contract worth over a million pounds. In October 2003, Myleene released her debut solo album, Moving On. The album included classical piano pieces and movie scores. The album reached No.2 in the Classical charts in the very first week of its release. It went on to be certified double platinum. In 2004, Moving On won a nomination for Peoples' Album Of The Year at the Classical Brit Awards. The award was eventually won by Bryn Terfel for her album Bryn. In 2005, Myleene started her career as a host when she started hosting the ITV1 music show CD:UK along with Lauren Laverne and Johny P. Myleene has also presented many events including the Variety Club Showbusiness Awards in 2005, Channel 4's hoax television show Space Cadets, BBC One's popular religion and ethics show Heaven & Earth, and the Five Friday night series The All Star Talent Show. She was also part of the hosting team for ITV1's popular talent show The X Factor. In 2006, Myleene branched out to radio when she started presenting the Sunday Breakfast program on Classic FM. Myleene achieved sex symbol status when she took part in ITV1's popular reality show I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! (2006). She was reportedly paid £100,000 to appear on the show. Following her popularity, Playboy magazine offered her a huge amount to pose nude.
