Biography
Jordana Brewster is an American actress who is best-known for her role in the smash hit The Fast and the Furious.
Jordana Brewster was born on April 26, 1980, in Panama City, Panama. She comes from a rich and influential family. Her grandfather, Kingman Brewster is a former President of Yale University. Her father, Alden Brewster is a successful American investment banker. Her mother, Maria Joao Leal de Sousa, is a former model from Brazil who had appeared in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. It is no wonder where Jordana got her exotic good looks from.
Jordana's father's work took him places and his family shifted several homes. Jordana lived in London, England till she was six years old. Her family then spent four years in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. While in Brazil, Jordana first dreamt of being an actress when she danced with other kids on a children's program, Xuxa Against Evil. Her family finally settled in New York City when Jordana was ten years old. In New York, she studied at the New York Professional Children's School.
Jordana got her first break in 1995 when she was just 15 years old. She made her television debut with her role as Nikki Graves on the day-time soap opera As the World Turns. She worked on the series till 1998. She also got a supporting role in the soap, All My Children (1995) and worked on it for less than a year.
In 1998, Jordana made her film debut as Delilah in the teen horror film The Faculty. The next year, she acted in the popular mini series The '60s (1999) along with Julia Stiles.
Meanwhile, Jordana graduated from high school and was accepted for college at Yale. However, she decided to take a break from her studies to focus on her acting career.
In 2001, she made it big with her role as Mia Toretto in the box-office blockbuster The Fast and the Furious starring Vin Diesel. That year, she also co-starred with Cameron Diaz in an independent film, The Invisible Circus.
Meanwhile, Jordana had resumed her studies and in 2003, she graduated from Yale University.
In 2005, Jordana appeared in D.E.B.S. (2005) playing the role of Lucy Diamond. She also worked in Nearing Grace (2005) as Grace. However, the films did not do well commercially.
In 2006, Jordana played the role of Ali in Annapolis (2006). She followed this up with the horror sequel The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2006) in which she plays the role of Chrissie.
In 2006, Maxim magazine ranked her at #59 on their Hot 100. Though Jordana is yet to see another hit like Fast and Furious, this raven-haired beauty has the right stuff to reach the top.
