Videos more videos Biography Raven-Symone is an American actress, singer, songwriter, dancer, television producer, and fashion designer. She is best known for her roles as Olivia Kendall on The Cosby Show and as Raven Baxter on her own show That's So Raven. Raven-Symoné Christina Pearman was born on December 10, 1985 in Atlanta, Georgia. When she was just an infant, she worked for Atlanta's Young Faces Inc. Modeling agency and appeared in local print advertisements. When she was two, she worked for Ford Models, Inc. in New York City and did advertisements for Ritz crackers, Jell-O, Fisher-Price, and Cool Whip. In 1989, when she was just 3, Raven got her first break when she was cast as Olivia Kendall on the popular sitcom The Cosby Show. Her adorable and cute antics made her very popular. Her popularity helped her land a recording deal with MCA Records when she was just 5. She then released her debut album Here's to New Dreams with the hit single That's What Little Girls Are Made Of. In 1993, Raven landed the role of Nicole Lee in the sitcom Hangin' with Mr. Cooper. She played the role till 1997. Meanwhile, she appeared in Disney film The Little Rascals (1994). In 1998, Raven got her big break when she acted as Eddie Murphy's daughter in the hit comedy Dr. Dolittle. She reprised her role in its sequel Dr. Dolittle 2. In 1999, Raven acted in the television film Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century and released her second album Undeniable. In 2002, Disney Channel tried to capitalize on her talent and popularity by making Raven the star of her own show, That's So Raven. The show became an instant hit, making Raven a celebrity. She went on to be featured on several products including video games and soundtracks. The show ran for four successful seasons and was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Children's Program in 2005. Raven also started her own production company, That So Productions and co-produced the final season of the show. In 2003, Raven was featured on the soundtrack of the Disney film The Cheetah Girls. She nest starred in its sequel The Cheetah Girls 2. In 2004, Raven released her third album This Is My Time. It included three Radio Disney hits, Backflip, Bump, and Grazing in the Grass. The song This Is My Time from the album was featured in the film The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. The album was a success and was certified gold. That year, she also lent her vocals to voice to the Fat Albert film. Raven won the Kids' Choice Award for Favorite TV Star in 2004 and 2005. In 2005, Raven graduated from the North Springs High School, an Arts and Science high school in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
