The Best of the Vee-Jay Years Jerry Butler has one of the coolest, most distinguished voices in all of music that's perfectly described by his nickname, "The Ice Man." Upon signing to Vee-Jay in late 1960 he released the smash "He Will Break Your Heart" which topped the charts for 7 consecutive weeks leading to a string of hits that sowed the seeds for Butler's four decade career spanning nearly 50 albums. Having formed in 1953, The Dells still perform to this day with very little line-up change. In 1955 The Dells became a household name thanks to their chart-topping smash "Oh What A Nite." After tour troubles in 1958 and a brief early 60's experiment in jazz harmony singing, The Dells once again returned to Vee-Jay and their R&B formula, throwing "Stay In My Corner" onto the charts and re-paving the road for a long and prosperous future.
