Snow Under Western Skies
2008 release. From his earliest years in Nova Scotia, Hank Snow was fascinated by the songs and lore of the American West. Every Canadian recording session he made between 1936 and 1947 featured at least one song about Texas and the open range. Long after resettling in the United States, Snow often revisited the West in his concerts, record albums and Grand Ole Opry appearances. This collection features many of Snow's Western sagas, starting with his first record from 1936, 'Prisoned Cowboy'. It also includes tracks from Heartbreak Trail, his best-selling 1965 tribute to the Sons of the Pioneers, along with rarities from his early years in Canada plus five tracks from his celebrated Thesaurus radio transcriptions of the early '50s. 31 tracks. Bear Family.
