homage to (read: complete and total ripoff of) Universal's blockbuster "Jaws". Actually, it's a much better movie than it has any right to be, thanks in large part to a great cast of B-movie vets that includes Kevin McCarthy, Keenan Wynn, Dick Miller, and Barbara Steele. Unbelievably, the script was written by John Sayles! Once again New World makes a flick that defines the term "drive-in movie". Cheesy. Campy.
