Early on, Rafael would control the tempo with his masterful and technical ability, but Israel came back with a 3rd round knockdown leaving Rafael shaken. Rafael slowly edged himself into the fight, but due to a serious injury to the nose caused by Rafael's punches, Israel gave in uttering, "I cant breathe" therefore submitting in the 7th round.
