Only ever screened twice, this black comedy stars Broadway favorite and film actor Frank Langella. Langella plays aging playwright Godfrey Winters, a former legend who's unusual behavior and distorted artistic persuasions have landed him on the 'whatever happened to' list. Suddenly inspired to reinvent himself, he begins rehearsals for his comeback play, and subjects two young desperate actors to a theatrical journey neither will escape from. The film contains some extraordinary scenes of actors being sent into true 'theatrical hell'. For anyone who loves theater, this is one of Langella's best performances, and the first time he has been reunited with Dom Deluise since Mel Brooks directed them both in 1967's 'Twelve Chairs'.
