NEW today cieon.me Boys and girls, it's another episode of UP CLOSE with Carrie Keagan featuring Midnight Meat Train and today we hanging out at the NGTV Studio Bar, known as the Shark Tank, none other than the Vinnie Jones. The Midnight Meat Train is a 2008 horror film based on Clive Barker's 1984 short story of the same name, which can be found in Volume One of Barker's collection Books of Blood. The film follows a photographer who attempts to track down a serial killer dubbed the "Subway Butcher" and discovers more than he bargained for under the city streets. The film stars Bradley Cooper, Leslie Bibb, Brooke Shields, Roger Bart, and Vinnie Jones. The film was directed by Japanese director Ryuhei Kitamura and stars Bradley Cooper, Leslie Bibb, Vinnie Jones and Brooke Shields. Its script was adapted by Jeff Buhler, the producer was Tom Rosenberg of Lakeshore Entertainment, and it was released on August 1, 2008. Producer Joe Daley, a long time friend of Buhler's, brought the two writers together and helped develop the script, along with producers Anthony Diblasi and Jorge Saralegui, for their newly minted horror factory The Midnight Picture Company. As of this entry, The Midnight Picture Company was busy shooting Book of Blood, the next film adaptation from the anthology of short stories that spawned Midnight Meat Train. In this ballad, the singers declare their "endless love" for one another. It was covered by soul singer Luther Vandross with pop/R&B singer Mariah Carey, and also by country music singer Kenny Rogers. The song ranks at number 13 on Billboard's All Time Top 100. Ross and Richie recorded the song for the Motown Records, and it was used as the theme for the film Endless Love starring Brooke Shields. Produced by Richie and arranged by Gene Page, it was released as a single from the film's soundtrack in 1981. While the film Endless Love was a failure, the song became the second biggest-selling single of the year (first was "Physical" by Olivia Newton-John) in the US and landed at number 1 on Billboard's Pop chart, where it stayed for nine weeks from August 9 to October 10, 1981. It also spent 7 weeks at number 1 on the R&B charts and 3 weeks atop the Adult Contemporary chart. At the time, it spent more weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 then any other duet,Motown song, or an original soundtrack single. It also became a number one single in Australia for 4 weeks and a Canadian #1 for six. It was a top ten hit in the UK. Written and produced by Lionel Richie, it was his first hit song away from the Commodores and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Song. The movie starring Brooke Shields and future stars Tom Cruise, Jamie Gertz, and James Spader was a box office flop. Oddly "Dreaming of You", the second duet by Ross and Richie on the soundtrack was never released as a single. I know of no official music video for the song, so I posted this.
