Ivan Reitman at the Oxonian Society
A fascinating interview at the Oxonian Society www.oxoniansociety.com by Ivan Reitman, producer and director, who has created many of American cinema's most successful and best loved feature film comedies and has worked with Hollywood's acting elite. Reitman made such hits as the ground-breaking sensation "National Lampoon's Animal House", which introduced John Belushi to American fimgoers. From there, he directed and produced a number of blockbuster comedies including Stripes (Bill Murray and Harold Ramis), Ghostbusters (Dan Aykroyd), Meatballs, Legal Eagles (Robert Redford, Debra Winger and Daryl Hannah), Twins (Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito), Kindergarten Cop, Dave (Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver), Beethoven, Private Parts (Howard Stern and Robin Quivers), and Old School (Will Ferrell and Luke Wilson). What Lucas and Spielberg did for fantasy adventure, Reitman did for comedy. The Society is dedicated to provocative discussion and debate with the world's best and most interesting minds, and is open to people of all backgrounds and experiences www.oxoniansociety.com A longer version of the whole free video can be viewed at www.oxoniansociety.com
Ghostbusters II Profile on Ivan Reitman
Here is a behind the scenes featurette about director Ivan Reitman from Ghostbusters 2.
ILSA, THE TIGRESS OF SIBERIA (1977) - Trailer
TIGRESS OF SIBERIA makes virtually no sense (but which Ilsa film is meant to?), but Dyanne Thorne gets naked a lot, and there is a cool arm wrestling over chainsaws scene. Ilsa is warden of a Siberian prison in the 50's. After Stalin is ousted, so is she. Ilsa turns up some 24 years later (un-aged!) running a brothel in Canada. Produced by Ivan Reitman!
Ghostbusters II Behind the scenes Slimer footage Bill Murray
This rare behind the scenes footage shows Robin Shelby (aka Robin Navlyt) getting prepped to play "Slimer" in "Ghostbusters 2." We see director Ivan Reitman, Bill Murray, and creature & makeup designer Tim Lawrence discussing ways to approach the action for Slimer. This home video is from William Forsche's (aka Foertsch) personal video collection. This is not your average studio made movie press release. This comes from a time before DVD's, high def TV, and reality based television shows. This is a rare look of what it was like to be behind the scenes in the summer of 1989 for "Ghostbusters 2." The camera work is somewhat crude and so is the language at times but it is all very real.Robin Shelby's homepage is here:http://www.robinshelby.com/Robin did a lot of hard work that unfortunately never made it to the final cut of the film.Appearing as Robin's manicurist is Mark Siegel. Mark is an actor in his own right and he also sculpted Slimer for GB II.
