As an iconic Sydney landmark, it once attracted thousands of visitors wanting see the home of Skippy the Bush Kangaroo, the wildlife displays, gardens and surrounding bushlands. At this point, the park gates are closed to the public and the future of the site is uncertain. The not-for-profit Waratah Park Nature Reserve Foundation (WPNRF) comprises volunteers committed to saving Waratah Park. The group is lobbying The Hon. Tony Kelly, Minister for Planning, Infrastructure and Lands, to ensure the site remains a nature park. Rich in cultural and historical significance and abundant in Australian flora and fauna, it is far too precious to our community to lose to developers. The foundation's vision is for the park to become a botanical landmark with extensive gardens, education facilities, an animal rehabilitation and wildlife care centre, picnic areas, walking trails and a Skippy Museum. And indeed it was - the highly venomous and deadly Grey Huntsman. These things are absolutely lethal - which gives you an idea of the bravery that I show in this clip - to get so close without showing the beast any fear!  | Australian police atrocities caught on tape Melbourne As Australian authorities face flak over a series of attacks on Indian students, leading members of the community spoke out against branding the country as racist and said the Government should be given some time to resolve the problem. At the same time, they expressed their deep concern over the security issues of Indian students. Insisting that Australia was not a racist country and all attacks were not racist in nature, Sydney-based cardiologist Yadu Singh said "We believe that this is not the correct picture of the unfortunate events." "Most of the attacks are what we call 'opportunistic attacks' and due to the impression by the criminal elements about our students being the easy target for various reasons," Singh said. Indian-origin CEO of leading company Primus, Ravi Bhatia, who took part in a peace rally here, said "Australia is a very open and tolerant society. It is a fun-loving country. "There are many examples of highly successful members in the Indian community. Just like any other society, there are small minority of miscreants and malcontents," he said. "Voice of Indian students have been heard at the highest level of the country. I would request them to give Government time to address grievances," Bhatia said.  | All My Children Sydney Penny Interview (Julia Santos Keefer) Sydney Penny 's first appearance was on the ABC Television's daytime drama, "All My Children" (1970), aired in September 1993. She received critical acclaim for her performance as young Meggie in the hit ABC miniseries, "The Thorn Birds" (1983) (mini). She played the popular role of BJ Walker in the daytime serial, "Santa Barbara" (1984), and earned herself an Emmy nomination. In 1995, Sydney received an Emmy nomination for her work on "All My Children" (1970) and a Soap Opera Award nomination. Sydney's entrance into show business came early. Her parents, country and western entertainers Hank Penny and Shari Penny, took their daughter to many of their performances. On one occasion -- and without prompting -- Sydney, just three-and-a-half years old, jumped up on stage and sang her own composition, "My Little Pony." Three years later, Sydney landed her first paying gig -- a toy commercial. Sydney's long list of credits include a co-starring role in the syndicated television series, "The New Gidget" (1986) and roles in the movies, Pale Rider (1985), with Clint Eastwood; Ciociara, La (1988) (TV) (a/k/a "Running Away") with Sophia Loren, and the French film, Bernadette (1988).
