 | Bandslam Official Movie Trailer Hungry for a little musical combat in your moviegoing diet? Going into serious American Idol withdrawal? Well, if you wish you could get a little more High School Musical action, then maybe Vanessa Hudgens newest role in Bandslam is the movie you've been waiting for. When Will Burton moves to New Jersey with his mom, he finds that high schools are pretty much the same all over, and he's just as much a misfit as ever. But the new school's got a thing for music, and the annual Bandslam competition--an event called "Texas high school football big"--is the biggest ticket in town. Will becomes part of a band and enters Bandslam only to take on rival high-school supergroup and current odds-on favorite the Glory Dogs. Check out the trailer. So does it rock, or is it a sour note? A record-shattering $4.17 billion worth of movie tickets were sold. But Hollywood also showed quality this summer which made me ask the question is it Oscar season yet? Heres my list of the Top 10 Best Movies of summer 2009, from 10 to the best of the best! 10. Bandslam I walked out of the screening for this film in a jubilant mood. Theres the fun ensemble cast featuring Vanessa Hudgens, Aly Michalka, Gaelan Connell, and Lisa Kudrow, and a charming story about a group of teens wanting to win the battle of the bands. Its the next best thing we have to a John Hughes movie. 9. The Hangover The highest-grossing R-rated comedy is also one of the funniest films this year! The film is like Citizen Kane for the raunch-fest genre. Similar to the much-beloved classic, The Hangover is about solving a puzzle before time runs out. Only this time, instead of Rosebud we get a baby, a tiger, and a broken tooth. 8. (500) Days of Summer Music video director Mark Webb surprises with this gem of a romantic comedy. What the movie does best is subvert the genre by twisting the clichés to come up with a clever and refreshingly honest movie. Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are utterly charming. 7. They were born in Torrance, California, but spent part of their childhood in Seattle, Washington. They are both actresses, singer-songwriters, and guitarists. MTV also premiered their latest movie, Super Sweet 16: The Movie, on July 8, 2007. Aly & AJ's debut album, Into the Rush, went Platinum as of May 2007. The song "No One" was featured in the Disney motion picture Ice Princess. The song "Do You Believe in Magic", written and originally recorded by The Lovin' Spoonful, added a rock edge. This cover was used in the soundtrack of the made-for-TV Disney Channel original movie, Now You See It, in which Alyson held the starring role of Allison. They were born in Torrance, California, but spent part of their childhood in Seattle, Washington. They are both actresses, singer-songwriters, and guitarists. On September 26, 2006, their album, Acoustic Hearts of Winter was released. On this album, Aly and AJ perform traditional Christmas songs, including "Joy to the World" and "Silent Night", as well as original songs, " Greatest Time of Year " and " Not This Year ". Greatest Time of Year is the first single from Aly & AJ's Christmas album Acoustic Hearts of Winter. The single was used for The Santa Clause 3, similar to the way Hilary Duff's song "Santa Clause Lane" was used for The Santa Clause 2, and the music video also had scenes from the film. The video first aired on October 16, 2006 on the Disney Channel. The single debuted at number ninety-six on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. It was released to iTunes as a single version with the beginning chorus cut off like in the video as well as an 8 second snippet just before the bridge.
