Although distinctly British, the listener can pick up on the musical influence of US artists that Fugative cites as inspiration, including Sean Kingston and Lil Wayne. During the development of Fugatives debut album, set for summer 09 release, he was a victim of the ever changing music industry when his record label sunk into administration. Undeterred, he continued recording, fulfilled all his live commitments (much to the delight of thousands of avid female followers) and is now signed to independent record label Clotted Cream. 15-year-old Fugative began his career at the tender age of 7 when he started hanging out with Darren Martyn (Shola Ama, The Honeyz) in his studio. Since then he has worked with a host of established UK artists (Kele Le Roc, Johnny Douglas and Darren Hayes) and has welcomed interest from respected US music industry execs namely Kirk Burrowes, former manager for Mary J Blige and part-owner of hip hop empire Bad Boys Inc. The future is bright for Fugative and with Music Week, You magazine, Teen Now and National Radio DJs including Nick Grimshaw tipping him for big things, the new year is sure to see him build further on his impressive ... | | I'm Spartacus (Ext. Length) Spartacus film (Dir. Stanley Kubrick) excerpt featuring Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis and Laurence Olivier in an extended version of the iconic "I'm Spartacus" clip. | | "Premakes" Up! (1965) What if... Walt Disney produced "Up" in the 1960s? Ah, the swinging 60s. It was a time when films were dominated by flying automobiles and flying nannies. It was also a time when live-action Disney films flourished and spawned such hits as "The Love Bug", "The Absent-Minded Professor", and "The Monkey's Uncle". In an alternate reality, this era also saw the production of the high-flying adventure-comedy, "Up!". Starring Spencer Tracy and Kirk Douglas, "Up!" followed the oddball escapades of the elderly widower, Carl Fredricksen, and his earnest band of misfits as they traveled through the wilds of South America. Produced two decades after "Saludos Amigos" and "The Three Caballeros", the film continued the Disney tradition of telling stories set against Latin American backdrops. Editor's Note: I have always enjoyed old Disney movies from the 60s and 70s. They managed to tap into such an imaginatively odd combination of situations and characters (like dinosaur bones and Chinese spies in "One of Our Dinosaurs is Missing", or flying cars and basketball players in The Absent-Minded Professor"). In many ways, Pixar's "Up" continues this charming tradition with its flying houses, talking dogs and gigantic flightless birds. It's a brilliantly written and beautifully imagined film. Oh, and stay tuned for the frame-by-frame breakdown and cheat sheet... there are a couple of Easter eggs hidden in this one. Here's the recipe for the trailer: Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, *batteries ... | | The Vikings The Vikings was an action/adventure film directed by Richard Fleischer in 1958, produced by and starring Kirk Douglas, and based on the novel The Viking by Edison Marshall. Other actors included Tony Curtis, Janet Leigh , Ernest Borgnine and Frank Thring. The film made notable use of natural locations in Norway, crisply captured on film by cinematographer Jack Cardiff. The King of Northumbria is killed during a Viking raid led by the fearsome Ragnar (Ernest Borgnine). Because the king had died childless, his cousin Aella (Frank Thring) takes the throne. The king's widow, however, is pregnant with what she knows is Ragnar's child, and to protect the infant from her cousin-in-law's ambitions, she sends him off to Italy. By a twist of fate, the ship is intercepted by the Vikings, who are unaware of the child's kinship, and enslave him. The boy grows into a young man named Erik (Tony Curtis). His parentage is finally discovered by Lord Egbert (James Donald), a Northumbrian nobleman opposed to Aella. When Aella accuses him of treason, Egbert finds sanctuary with Ragnar in Norway. Egbert recognizes the Northumbrian royal sword's pommel stone on an amulet around Erik's neck, placed there by Erik's mother when he was a child. Egbert tells no one. Erik incurs the wrath of his half-brother Einar (Kirk Douglas), Ragnar's legitimate son and heir, after the former orders his falcon to attack Einar, taking out one of his eyes. Erik is saved from immediate execution when the tribal ... | | James Fortune Zacardi Cortez Shawn Mclemore I BELIEVE PRESENTED BT KERRY DOUGLAS Skillet awake Marvin Sapp here am Various karen clark sheg BEBE &CECE Winans James fortune &FIya ENCORE FRED HAMMOND LOVE UNSTOPABLE EARNEST PUGH RAIN ON US HEZEKIAH WALKER LFC TAMELA MANN THE MASTER PLAN BRIAN COURTNEY WILSON KIRK FRANKLIN HEALING HAND OF GOD SAVE PLACE FOR ME NEVER WOULD HAVE MADE IT BELIVE YOU SAW BEST LOST ALL BLACK WHITE GOSPEL NEED BEGINS BETTER THAN HELLEHA | | Spears "embarrassed" by VMA performance Hello! I'm Kristin Volk in for Rebecca Field with a UPI Entertainment Update on this Tuesday, September 11, 2007. Singer Britney Spears says she's embarrassed by her performance on MTV's Video Music Awards Sunday night. She added that she was quote "just plain nervous." Spears continues to be criticized for that opening act. Spears lip-synched through her latest single, "Gimme More," and didn't move much. In the past, Spears has delivered memorable performances on the VMAs, dancing with a snake and making out with Madonna. Meanwhile, Kid Rock is required to make a court appearance in a few weeks after he reportedly punched Tommy Lee at the VMAs. Pamela Anderson has been married to both rockers who have feuded in the past. It was unclear how the fight started, but security guards were quick to respond. Kid Rock was issued a citation for misdemeanor battery. And Justin Timberlake is giving props to singer Chris Brown after his energetic dancing on the VMAs. Among many routines, Brown did a rendition of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" performance. When Timberlake walked on stage to accept an award, he said he was happy that there was a new generation of musicians carrying the torch. He also added that Brown made him feel old!
