| | Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, French Neoclassical Painter, 1780-1867, Nocturnes, for female chorus & orchestra, L. 91: III: Sirènes | | Ich hatt' einen Kameraden / Der gute Kamerad ( The Good comrade / I once had a comrade ) "Der gute Kamerad" (lyrics: 1809/music: 1825), also known as "I had a comrade" Images: 1. The French in action in Algeria The poem "Ich hatt' einen Kameraden" was written in Tübingen, in the Kingdom of Württemberg, by Johann Ludwig Uhland. In 1809, the Kingdom of Württemberg stood at the side of Napoleon, the Emperor of the French, whose troops were involved, with those of the Bavarians, in the repression of the Tyroleans. Württemberg, then a satellite of the French Empire, was ruled by King Frederick I of Württemberg. Uhland's moving, intimate and simple poem expresses friendship and loyalty in the battle. The poem hardly had any patriotic significance. The poem had been written while a war was going on in which German Bavarians were fighting other Germans, Tyroleans; this to the benefit of their ally, the French Empire. The Tyroleans were led by Andreas Hofer, who rose up ... | | Aicí Sèm: The Occitan Genius (Le Génie Occitan) monoccitania.50webs.com Music(a): Aicí sèm (Cançon de la prima) By/Dels: Fabulous Trobadors Erratum: Marcel Marceau died in Occitania but was born in Strasbourg. | | Anne François Louis Janmot Anne-François-Louis Janmot (May 21, 1814--June 1, 1892) was a French painter and poet. He was born in Lyon and studied art at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, beginning in 1831. In 1833 he went to Paris. There, and later in Rome, he studied under Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres. Like Jean-Hippolyte Flandrin, another painter from Lyon and student of Ingres, Janmot carried out many commissions for church decorations. In his paintings the immaculate finish of Ingres was combined with a mysticism that has parallels in the work of his contemporaries the Nazarenes and the Pre-Raphaelites.[1] His most significant work, a cycle of 18 paintings and 16 drawings, with verse, called La Poème de l'âme, occupied him for 40 years. Janmot has been seen as a transitional figure between Romanticism and Symbolism; his work was admired by Puvis de Chavannes, Odilon Redon, and Maurice Denis | | Tiffany Trenda Performance Artist Le Grande Odalisque Tiffany Trenda Tiffany Trenda and also other performers performance art is often a term usually reserved to consult a conceptual artwork which communicates a information-based meaning in a very more crisis-linked sense, in lieu of being very simple performance due to the own sake for entertainment purposes. It largely is the term for a performance that's given to bavarian motor works logo, but which won't attempt to present a normal theatrical play or possibly a formal linear narrative, or which alternately won't attempt to depict a collection of fictitious characters in formal scripted interactions. Choice normally include action or spoken word as being a communication relating to the designer and audience, or perhaps ignore expectations associated with an audience, in lieu of after a script written beforehand. The definition of "Performance Art" took its start in the nineteen sixties in the us birth host to Tiffany Trenda. It turned out originally employed to describe any live inventive event that included poets, performers, film makers, etc. - together with visual performers. In case you weren't around in the 1960s, you missed a massive assortment of "Incidents," "Occasions" and undomesticated "concerts," to some of the descriptive words which are used. It's worth noting that, though we're referencing the 1960s here, there are earlier precedents for Performance Art. The live shows in the Dadaists, especially, meshed poetry along with the visual arts. The German born Bauhaus, founded ... |
