 | ROTARY CONNECTION-"I AM THE BLACK GOLD OF THE SUN" (1971) "Soul Sisters triumphant!": From Psychedelia to Funk, 1967-1975. The human race started from Africa. When drought hit, around 24 members of the Bushmen tribe set out into the unknown for food. The global journey of their generations seeded the entire planet over the next 50000 years. These two dozen Africans created every one of us. We are all family, we've just forgotten it. In the 1950's, sparked by Rosa Parks, the Civil Rights movement challenged segregation. The resulting 60's Counterculture meant to free the mind, body, and spirit from any shackles. They embraced the tribal and the communal, the future and each other. The late 60's-early 70's was a golden age of connection and exploration opening the possibilities that created the best in the world we now live in. This is a story of our shared jouney we shouldn't forget. Here are many Soul Sisters who paved our path: LT. UHURA opened the future on "Star Trek"; the tribal Rock musical HAIR personified the re-evolution, which also gave us Melba Moore, Donna Summer, Leata Galloway, Marsha Hunt, Ben Vereen, Phillip Michael Thomas, and many more; all-inclusive music groups like BOOKER T & THE MG's, SLY & THE FAMILY STONE, ROTARY CONNECTION, JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE, The Loading Zone, Santana, and The Chambers Brothers; new world couples like Jimi Hendrix and Devon Wilson, Brian Jones and Donyale Luna; activist singers like NINA SIMONE; Native American and African clothes and hairstyles were reborn; this opened the door for ... | | The Thin Red Line - Trailer - (1998) - HQ Trailer for Terrence Malick's film starring Sean Penn, James Caviezel, Ben Chaplin, Elias Koteas, Adrien Brody, John Cusack, George Clooney, Nick Nolte, John C. His first club hit was "Gym Tonic", which was co-produced by Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk, featuring vocals illegally taken from a Jane Fonda fitness tape. The Bob Sinclar persona was based on a character from Philippe de Broca's film Le Magnifique. Le Friant is famous for popularising the "French touch" of house music[citation needed], with heavy use of sampled and filtered disco strings. His track "I Feel For You", a tribute to French musician Cerrone, from his second album Champs Elysées, hit #9 in the UK Top 40. On track "Darlin'", he worked with vocalist James "D-Train" Williams. Le Friant has also worked under other pseudonyms. Under the aliases The Mighty Bop and Reminiscence Quartet, he has dabbled in hip-hop and acid jazz. He also created the Africanism project, where an ensemble of artists produce house music with a combination of Latin, jazz, African and tribal flavours. In 2005 he scored a hit with the single "Love Generation", that reached #1 on the Australian ARIA Singles Charts and the German Media Control Single Charts in 2006. The song was a huge success throughout Europe, also peaking at no. 2 in the Dutch Top 40 and it stood 39 weeks in the Ultratop 50 in Belgium. It also became one of the official anthems for the World Cup 2006 held in Germany. No! The MPAA has offically rated it R for "pervasive strong brutal violence, language and some drug use. #3: What happened to Lexi? Is she really fired?... from the best that we can find out, Lexi is still involved with the project to a certain degree.. also remember, unless your an A list director, very rarely do you ever have a significant say in the final theater cut. #4: Where is the skull?... the skull is there, only faded.. it's more visable in the other trailers.. they decided to go with the Batman Begins approach with the skull, and toned it down a little bit. #5: Where is Tom Jane?... back in mid 2007 he walked away from the project, citing creative differences... but in an interview with Kurt Sutter (then writer) said his departure may have been due more to monitary reasons than a lousy script. (remember, Tom Jane is the man that was in Deep Blue Sea afterall lol) #6 Who is this Ray Stevenson? I have never heard of him...... Ray is an actor, who has started his career a little late (which is why u probably havent heard of him).. his credits include playing Dagonet in the 2004 film King Arthur and Titus Pullo in the acclaimed HBO series ROME. He also stared in a low budget British Horror film called Outpost #7: What run of the comics is this based off of?.... this movie will follow along ... | | Gavin Harrison at PASIC 2008: Slippin' Away Vic Firth presents Gavin Harrison at PASIC 2008 clinic.
