Edgar Allan Poe & Vincent Price: The Tell-Tale Heart (I)
I'm too far away to go and place flowers and liquor in Edgar Allan Poe's tomb, in Baltimore, US. But every january the 19th I remember Poe in some way or another. This time, I've chosen to add Vincent Price impersonation of famous tale The Tell-tale Heart (first act of his An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe movie). When I was living in Spain, I did the same tale -in spanish- for a live audience on several occasions (Arnod Medvegia was my nickname on those performings). I love this tale. I love Vincet Price. And finally I love Edgar Allan Poe. This is my homage to both amazingly talented geniuses, combined here again to give life to such a masterpiece.Happy birthday Edgar!!

Edgar Allan Poe "The Raven" Poem Animation Movie
Here is a virtual movie Edgar Allan Poe reading his great poem "The Raven" This recording taken from a public domain audio website is qiute possibly my alltime favourite reading of this most dark lunatic frenzied poem.Heres an excerpt of what the excellent Wikipedia says about this most famous of poems.."The Raven" is a narrative poem by the American writer Edgar Allan Poe, first published in January 1845. It is noted for its musicality, stylized language, and supernatural atmosphere. It tells of a talking raven's mysterious visit to a distraught lover, tracing the latter's slow descent into madness. The lover, often identified as being a student,[1][2] is lamenting the loss of his love, Lenore. The raven, sitting on a bust of Pallas, seems to further instigate his distress with its constant repetition of the word, "Nevermore." Throughout the poem, Poe makes allusions to folklore and various classical works.Poe claimed to have written the poem very logically and methodically. His intention was to create a poem that would appeal to both critical and popular tastes, as he explains in the follow-up essay: "The Philosophy of Composition". The poem was inspired in part by a talking raven in the novel Barnaby Rudge: A Tale of the Riots of 'Eighty by Charles Dickens.[3] Poe borrows the complex rhythm and meter of Elizabeth Barrett's poem "Lady Geraldine's Courtship".The first publication of "The Raven" on January 29, 1845, in the New York Evening Mirror made Poe widely popular in his lifetime. The poem was soon reprinted, parodied, and illustrated. Though some critics disagree about the value of the poem, it remains one of the most famous poems ever written"Kind RegardsJim ClarkAll rights are reserved on this video recording copyright Jim Clark 2008

Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven
Inspired by my love for the works of German expressionist artist M.C. Escher and his use of shadow and light within arciteshal spaces. This short peas combines the elements of the Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff horror movies of the 1930's with the poetic genies of Edger Alan Pose's "The Raven". as well as the plugin manifesto. The pluginmanifesto is a document written by Ana Kronschnabl that looks at the challenges for filmmaking for the internet and other reduced bandwidth platforms (such as mobile phones, PDAs and PlayStation Portables. The author noted, "The pluginmanifesto arose out of a need...In discussion with others we realised that most people assumed that we [those who make web films] were approaching this new technology from the same angle that many others were - that of trying to deliver film or television over the Internet. This was not what we were trying to do. We felt that the Internet was not just a new viewing platform, but a new medium, as different as TV is from film and film is from theatre."The pluginmanifesto was launched Watershed Media Centre in Bristol on 17th May 2001. The author never intended the manifesto to remain a static document, but looked for wider input and evolution of the ideas within, "The text of the pluginmanifesto can be freely copied and modified. Indeed we encourage you, along with other filmmakers, artists, geeks and web-users, to take the contents of this document and evolve it in-line with your experiences, ideas and perspectives" The manifesto was published as copyleft under the Design Science License and the author encouraged others to revise or re-write the document as they wished.
