 | Tribute to Craig Biggio on his 3,000th hit Houston Astro Craig Biggio joined the 3,000 hit club on June 28, 2007 making him the 27th player in baseball history to acheive that milestone. Making it even more special he did it all with one team. I chose the U2 song 'Desire' b/c he loves the group and they often play this song when he comes up to bat. It also just seems fitting of his desire to play such a wonderful game. |

I'm sorry I shook and screamed so much, but honestly, if you were there, you would have too. Congratulations Craig! And thank you. For everything. |

 | Craig Biggio Jersey Retirement A little bit of a departure from what I normally post, but this was a really cool moment. In a pregame ceremony on August 17, 2008, Astros great Craig Biggio had his number retired at Minute Maid Park in Houston. The game itself was pretty awesome too as Roy Oswalt pitched 8 innings of one hit ball against the Diamondbacks. Jose Valverde came in for the ninth and closed out the game giving the Astros a 3-0 win. |
