Both the US President and UK Prime Minister fancy a war but not everyone agrees including US Assistant Secretary for Diplomacy, US Army General (James Gandolfini) and a floundering British Minister Simon Foster (Tom Hollander). When Foster accidentally announces on national TV that war is unforeseeable, the British government is sent into a spiral of chaos and spin propagated by verbosely aggressive Director of Communications, Malcom Tucker (Peter Capaldi). Foster attempts to neutralise his unforeseeable comment by telling the British public to prepare to climb the mountain of conflict but soon finds himself bundled off to Washington on a fact-finder where he becomes both a pawn for the secret war committee and a poster-boy for the General and the Assistant Secretary for Diplomacys anti-war campaign. From Armando Iannucci, the comic-genius behind The Day Today, Im Alan Partridge and the BAFTA award-winning The Thick Of It and starring Tom Hollander, James Gandolfini, Peter Capaldi and Steve Coogan, comes a hilarious and biting satire on British-US relations and the lunacy of War. | | Steve Coogan rips into The News Of The World Steve Coogan and Greg Dyke unite to rip Paul McMullen apart on Newsnight | | Steve Coogan interview - Parkinson - BBC Steve Coogan talks about the origin of his characters and using his impressionist skills to survive when growing up. The titular Percy discovers that he's descended from the gods themselves, and as should probably be expected from this discovery, he'll be charged with a quest--head out in an effort to settle a long-term ongoing battle against the various factions of the Olympians. Check out the trailer! Considering that it's from a former Harry Potter director, we can probably expect something similar to go on with this. But can you wrap your head around a big-budget Potter clone with delusions of godlike grandeur, or is it asking entirely too much of your suspension of disbelief?
