 | Pirates of the Caribbean Medley Roland Atelier Britt Music This is a 'Pirates of the Caribbean' Medley played live on the Roland Music Atelier Organ which is really the most awesome keyboard instrument in the world. It is a "one man orchestra." Atelier is a French word meaning "a studio especially for an artist or designer" and this is truly the ultimate keyboard made for a musical artist or musical designer. Everything is played live on the instrument, nothing is pre-recorded, no tracks, no automatic accompaniments. Everything you hear you can see played on one of the two keyboards and/or pedal board. The percussion comes from the keys on the lower keyboard or the pedal board. Since there are a limited number of these made, I only had a few days to practice and prepare this piece. There are a few mistakes, but they are also part of what prove that I am playing it live. I made this arrangement myself of what I consider the best of the music from the first two movies. In the video you can see several screen shots of the sound setups used, and the names of the pieces as they occur. The pieces in the medley are: The Medallion Calls, Jack Sparrow, Two Hornpipes, Davy Jones Plays His Organ, and He's a Pirate. If you want the music, there are books available from all 3 movies in piano solo or easy piano format. I based my arrangements from the music in these books. That would require the help of a transcriber. If you would like to transcribe this for everyone, be my guest! This is my take on Pirates of the Caribbean. When I make a video such as this, I print out a regular sheet of music found on the internet, and then I improvise on it. This is a skill that takes a long time to learn and develop, and it is best understood if you take piano lessons. Remember, there is nothing better than a live 1 on 1 piano lesson. Story behind this video project: My sister Jessica had the final say on which pieces I would play, as well as the order. However, despite my sister's bossiness (JK haha), I believe she did a nice job! She also stayed with me during the entire video making AND editing process which was over six hours in total! This was SO much work, and I'm glad it is finally finished... it was truly spontaneous. I did not wake up this morning knowing I was going to make a fifteen minute long pirates medley! (I just wish it could be all one video grr) So there is one thing I must mention.  | Davy Jones in the Pirates of the Caribbean 3 Video Game Because so many people have been asking, to unlock Davy for play, you have to complete the Pearl vs Dutchman mission in the main game. The video game for "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" has a very cool feature where you can replay a level as almost any character and the cutscenes will be modified to include the character you're playing as, which can lead to some very amusing "What if?" scenarios, such as...what if Davy Jones fought himself? These are some of the scenes from the video game with Davy Jones as the main character. Please be aware that this video, despite Davy Jones's obvious recasting, does contain spoilers for the third "Pirates" film. |
