SORRY again! ive missed out gene tierney. apologies. Due to the great Paul Newmans death recently, I was reminded of how immortal the movie legends are. Even though they die like the rest of us, they are forever preserved on film. Marilyn Monroe and James Dean died well over fifty years ago, but they are far from dead in our minds. Every movie legend will be watched and adored in their performances for eternity. So, here is a tribute to the legends with the cause and age of their death. I know there are many missing, that is because I believe that the ones Ive included are the most worthy of the word legend. They have made the mark on film. It is a shame that people think just because and actor or actress appeared in classic films it makes them a legend- far from it. Before someone says anything, Lauren Bacall, Elizabeth Taylor, Sophia Loren, Olivia deHavilland and Kirk Douglas arent in it because they are all still alive. I hope you enjoy it- as I was researching for this video many of their deaths came as a shock. The music is from the war classic form 1978, The Deer Hunter. I OWN NONE OF THE MATERIAL IN THIS VIDEO. THIS IS PURELY A FAN VIDEO. NO COPYRIGHT INTENDED | | Angel Eyes Des films noirs et des autres genres de films, les femmes fatales avec les yeux des anges. Song: "Angel Eyes," music by Matt Dennis, lyrics by Earl Brent. Performed by Bruce Springsteen. In this Otto Preminger directed film noir we meet some of the defining characters of the genre, and we view one of the best movies of the 40s. Despite the great script, to-a-tee acting, smoky atmosphere and moody cinematography, what really comes in to focus with this movie is its music. After all, if you look at most of the great movies, you will find a great score backing up the brilliance. This score is done by David Raksin. Year: 1944 Movie: Laura Director: Otto Preminger Players: Gene Tierney, Dana Andrews, Clifton Webb, Vincent Price and Judith Anderson. Genre: 1940s Film Noir My Rating: 9.5/10 My Music Rating: 9/10 | | Gene Tierney - Sentimental Journey Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for fair use for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Dedicated to Gene Tierney. | | Gene Tierney - The LAURA videoclipe Gene is THE face in a misty light... | | Laura ~ Theme Music and Gene Tierney Images Images of Gene Tierney, and leading men. Orchestra conducted by David Raksin. Hauntingly, beautiful music composed for the film noir classic "Laura". This is a compilation of stills and publicity shots of Gene Tierney taken mostly during the rise and height ofher career. | | GENE TIERNEY ~ PER AMORE A pictorial tribute to Hollywood's Mona Lisa. An arid clime is feeble, To vanish tears away, Nor dew of eyes so moist, Unveiled at break of day. When beauty holds affection, On passion's course so true, The parched and withered soul, Will dampen then anew. Withdraw the barren skies, As ever pleads the soul, To cease from recasting, A dire and poignant role. No replica though perfect, Opposing could endure, Or charm the devoted, So blessed of her allure. -shanghaibenny2, April 09 Gene Tierney is easily among the top ten beauties Hollywood has ever produced. Men were stunned by her beauty and charisma upon first glance. Her most memorable performances are in Laura (1945), The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (1947) and Leave Her To Heaven (1945). But, her allure goes into overdrive in every movie she made. Her talent for expressing deep emotions conveyed with natural grace and charm is truly mesmerizing. As in The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, her performances are so haunting that these images have found a place in the long term memory of many filmgoers, easily activated after many years, even with minimal or no contact. I have posted this video as a tribute in the hope that her memory will never fade away. Physical science should have an element bearing her name; and for her admirers, she is the modern version of Leonardo Da Vinci's masterpiece. |
