Baseball Factory Under Armour All-America: Nick Castellanos | 3B | Davie, FL
Generates plus bat speed and has legitmate home run power to all fields. This was on display when he won the Home Run Derby and MVP honors at the Under Armour All-America Game. He has a tall, broad-shouldered frame similar to Scott Rolen and makes all the plays at 3B with ease. He projects in the middle of the line-up at any level. We have seen a lot of Nick as he has attended an Under Armour National Tryout, the Baseball Factory Dodgertown World Series and played in an Under Armour SE Tournament with the All-American Prospects an Under Armour Franchise Team. Nick is committed to the University of Miami. CONGRATULATIONS to the entire Castellanos Family!
Recreating "the Catch"
Mangan and Roger imitate the greatest catch in postseason history (sorry, Willie), Endy Chavez' leap to rob Scott Rolen of a home run in Game 7 of the 2006 NLCS between the Mets and Cardinals ------------------------------- Update In response to the many people who have commented that this is, in fact, not the best catch ever, I guess there can be some reasonable disagreement on the topic. I think it's the greatest catch ever for a two big reasons: 1) The catch itself, physically, was the greatest catch I have ever seen. He raced to the wall, timed it perfectly, and leaped high enough to catch the ball and haul it back from two feet beyond the wall. 2) The context of the catch, in the game, was extremely important. It was Game 7 of an NLCS. The game was tied. The home run, had it happened, would have been a three run home run. At the time, it saved the game, the series, and the season. Other catches have been physically great. Other catches have been important. Few catches have been both. No catch has matched this one.
Sports: Cincinnati Reds & St. Louis Cardinals In Bench Clearing Brawl
The Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Cardinals were involved in a benches- clearing incident before the bottom of the first inning got underway in Tuesday's game at Great American Ball Park. Brandon Phillips, who said some inflammatory things about the Cardinals after Monday night's game, was set to lead off and immediately became involved in a heated argument with Yadier Molina. The catcher took his mask off and seemed to spark the verbal battle that quickly emptied both benches and bullpens. Managers Tony La Russa and Dusty Baker were arguing with one another before pitcher Chris Carpenter of the Cardinals and third baseman Scott Rolen of the Reds became entangled as the mass of players then quickly moved from home plate to the wall and screen behind the plate area. Cincinnati starting pitcher Johnny Cueto wound up getting pinned against the screen but was able to re-take the mound in the second inning and wound up lasting 5 1/3 innings and suffering the loss. La Russa and Baker were both ejected but no players were thrown out of the game. Molina homered in the second inning and added a sacrifice fly in the sixth, while Phillips grounded out to end the game, as the Cardinals won 8-4 to pull into a first place tie with the Reds in the National League Central.

Thunder Shaman (Crack the Sky) - Native American Flute Music - Rolen Stout
Connect with Rolen Stout on Facebook: on.fb.me "Crack the Sky" from the forthcoming album BLOOD MEMORY. Written and performed by Rolen Stout. Video by Rolen Stout. The flute I played on the recording is aspen in the key of G, made by JP Gomez of Heartsong Flutes in Sedona, Arizona ABOUT THE SONG In "Crack the Sky" I tried to relate something of the terror and consolation of storms, and of the shaman's mysterious work, which often frightens before it heals. Racing arpeggios emulate jagged lightning flashes, while lingering fundamental notes suggest the soothing lull as thunder rolls and decays in the distance. I had in mind shamans from many world cultures while writing and playing this one, including shamans from Europe, Africa, Asia, and the West, which you'll see reflected in the video (the shaman masks in particular). My instrument is Native American style flute, but the sentiment I'm expressing transcends any one culture or philosophy. The Native American flute, as R. Carlos Nakai is always quick to point out, was a social instrument, not a ceremonial one, so the idea is presented here in that same spirit. BLACK ELK SPEAKS I also had in mind a passage from John G. Neihardt's classic book Black Elk Speaks, an English recreation of the oral history that Black Elk, an Oglala Sioux medicine man, recounted for Neihardt in 1931. In an early chapter, Black Elk relates a vision that came to him as a boy. It's worth quoting at length: "It was when I was five years old that my ...
