 | BJ Novak in the Bob Rivers Show, Part 1, May 30, 2008 B.J. Novak plays Ryan Howard, the temp who became his boss's boss, in NBC's Emmy Award-winning comedy series "The Office." He is also a writer and supervising producer for the series, and has scripted several episodes for the show, including "Diversity Day," "Sexual Harassment," "The Fire," and "Boys and Girls." Novak has appeared in several motion pictures, including Columbia Pictures' drama "Reign Over Me," opposite Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle, and the Warner Brothers film "Unaccompanied Minors," as well as Universal Pictures' "Knocked Up," the hit comedy from "40-Year-Old Virgin" director Judd Apatow. Before "The Office," Novak was best known for his improvised performances on the MTV hit "Punk'd," the celebrity prank show. His most famous performance on that show was as Hilary Duff's driving instructor. His other celebrity targets included Usher, Mya, and Jaime Pressley. As a writer, Novak's credits include work on Universal's forthcoming film adaptation of the television spy series "Get Smart," as well as other projects. As a standup comedian, Novak was named one of Variety's "Ten Comics to Watch" in 2003 and has performed on Comedy Central's "Premium Blend" and NBC's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." |
