Felix Weber, a bomber made famous by the movie "The Mad Bomber of Old Detroit", has escaped imprisonment and continues his anti-corporate acts of terrorism. Assisting RoboCop on the case is the police Captain who was responsible for the bomber's capture 12 years earlier: Russell Murphy, his father. The exploding building from the "Mad Bomber" clip on MediaBreak is from the finale of Provision 22. The Electro-Shields used by the Anti Corporate Terrorism Squad make an inexplicable return in one of Robo's left leg (TAC) devices in a later episode (Midnight Minus One). What's with the random Star Trek reference when Robo climbs in the helicopter? And how does the chopper fly away when it's still attached to the building? Actor Martin Milner, who plays Russell Murphy, was actually born in Detroit Michigan. Russell Murphy (and his wife Dorothy) shows up again in Corporate Raiders. Joe Walsh and Lita Ford's "A Future To This Life" begins playing over the end credits starting with this episode. The last three episodes show a short music video along with the song, coincidentally starting with another episode featuring Murphy's parents.  | Inger Stevens Route 66 Flirtation "The Beryllium Eater" was the first of Inger Stevens' two appearances on the 60's TV series Route 66. It aired on December 9, 1960, exactly one week after she was seen in the Twilight Zone episode "The Lateness of the Hour." Slightly more than a year later, as Julie Brack, she reclaimed her Swedish accent for her second role on Route 66 titled "Burning for Burning." Inger's television career was gaining momentum in the early 60's. By 1963, she had her own popular TV show - The Farmer's Daughter. "The Beryllium Eater" was written by Richard Collins and Directed by Alvin Ganzer. Inger plays Wendy Durant, the neglected wife of a millionaire. Beloved character actor Edgar Buchanan (Uncle Joe, Petticoat Junction) plays Jack. Route 66 starred Martin Milner as Todd, and George Maharis as Buz. The Route 66 TV series probably inspired an entire generation to embrace the concept of the road trip. I have posted this video in the best spirit of Fair Use to remember and pay tribute to the TV shows, movies, and actors that meant something special to those of us who grew up in the 1960's. Most of all, however, I would like to increase the recognition and appreciation of Inger Stevens. Her talent, wit, sensitivity, intelligence and humanity were of the highest magnitude. She is loved and missed by her fans, by her friends and family, and by those who worked with her. Fans of Inger can now see her niece in the lead role of a new sci-fi web series.  | Nelson Riddle & His Orchestra - Theme From Route 66 (Original Stereo) Nelson honed his craft in the latter days of the big band era and then was hired by Capitol Records to do some arranging for some of their artists. One of his first assignments was to assist Les Baxter on a record date with Nat King Cole. The result of that session was Nat's "Mona Lisa", and from that point forward, Nelson became one of the leading staff arrangers and orchestra conductors in the US. On occasion Nelson would record on his own, and he even had a #1 hit with "Lisbon Antigua" in December of 1955. Nelson Riddle has arranged music and conducted the orchestra on some of the most famous popular recordings in music history for the likes not only of Nat King Cole, but Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ella Fitzgerald and many others. In 1960 he composed the theme music for a new television series starring Martin Milner and George Maharis called "Route 66". This theme became very popular over time and even reached the Top 40 pop charts peaking at #30 in August of 1962. |
 | Bulgaria 0-3 England Goals | Euro 2012 Championship Group G Qualifier | 02/09/11 FATV Official Goal Highlights - Bulgaria vs England A 3-0 victory over Bulgaria in Sofia has put England in charge of proceedings at the top of their qualifying group for Euro 2012. Gary Cahill opened the scoring on 13 minutes when he guided home Gareth Barry's clipped ball into the box. Wayne Rooney headed a second from Stewart Downing's corner and the Manchester United forward sealed the win just before the break by tapping home at the far post after being found by club-mate Ashley Young. Rooney's brace capped an impressive individual display, but to a man England were professional and they produced some fantastic football against an albeit disappointing Bulgarian side. While one Manchester United defender won his first cap with Chris Smalling getting the nod at right back, it was the United pair of Rooney and Young who got the game underway with the smoke from a Bulgarian flare still casting a shadow over the players. Smalling made an early opening for the visitors when he strode past Walcott and crossed to the far post, but Downing arrived moments to late to get on the end of the delivery. Ashley Cole then popped up in the box and saw his left footed drive deflected wide for a corner as both full backs provided attacking support. From the resulting delivery Cahill showed great striker's instincts to chest down a pass from Barry and slot the ball home to give England an early lead.
