 | DRUM BATTLE!!Lars Ulrich(METALLICA) vs. Peter Criss(KISS) Lars Ulrich (born December 26, 1963) is the drummer and co-founder of Metallica. He was born in Gentofte, Denmark to an upper middle-class family. A tennis prodigy in his youth, Ulrich moved to Los Angeles, California at age seventeen to pursue his training, but instead of playing tennis, he ended up as a drummer. After publishing an advertisement in a local Los Angeles newspaper called The Recycler, he met James Hetfield and formed Metallica.The young Ulrich found himself mesmerized by the performance, buying the band's Fireball album the very next day. The concert and the album had a considerable impact on Ulrich, inspiring his entrance into the world of rock and roll and later on, heavy metal. As a result of his newfound interest in music, he received his first drum kit at the age of thirteen, a Ludwig. In 1981, Ulrich met James Hetfield in Downey, California and formed the thrash metal band Metallica. Ulrich's early work with Metallica led him to be dubbed as one of the thrash metal scene's drumming greats. He was highly influenced by Clive Brooks drummimg on the Steve Hillage Green album on The Glorious Om Riff track. He became known for his pioneering fast thrash drum beats and techniques featuring on many of Metallica's early songs Ulrich is an endorser of Tama drums, Zildjian cymbals and Remo drumheads.  | Christian the lion - Full ending In 1969 a young Australian, John Rendall and his friend Ace Bourke, bought a small lion cub from Harrods pet department, which was then legal. 'Christian' was kept in the basement of a furniture shop on the Kings Road in Chelsea, the heart of the swinging sixties. Loved by all, the affectionate cub ate in a local restaurant, played in a nearby graveyard, but was growing fast... A chance encounter with Bill Travers and Virginia McKenna led to a new life for Christian. He came to live in a huge enclosure and to sleep in a caravan at their Surrey home. Then in 1971 he was flown to Kenya, his ancestral home, and returned to the wild by lion-man George Adamson. Nine months later in 1972, John and Ace returned to Kora in Kenya. This clip is of their reunion at that time. It was an emotional reunion: "He ran towards us, threw himself onto us, knocked us over and hugged us, with his paws on our shoulders." They released their eponymous debut album the same year featuring vocals from both Paul Carrack (ex of Ace) and Paul Young (ex of Sad Café) and had an immediate hit with Silent Running. This was followed a string of further hit singles and albums as gaps in the Genesis schedule permitted. In 2004 the band reunited for the first time since the sad death of Paul Young in 2000 and released a new studio album Rewired. With Paul Carrack now handling all the lead vocals they went out on the road across Europe, culminating in this outstanding performance at London's Shepherds Bush Empire.
