(CH4, 1983-85) "drew its cast and creators from the Black Theatre Co-operative, and concerned the livers of teenage and twenty something Powell kids, left to fend for themselves in a council house" in Willesden, NW London after their parents have made the smart move and returned to Jamaica. Originally broadcast in 1982 on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom that's way before the channel was dumb down and taken over by supremacists, this was the forerunner to the popular Black British comedy "Desmond's". No Problem features two Lover's Rock legends Janet Kay (Angel) and Victor Romeo Evans (Bellamy). In this episode Angel discovers she is pregnant and with the help of her "Cousin Melba" played by the brilliant Angela Wynter attempts to conceal the pregnancy from the family.  | Sac vs Bay Dunk Contest W/ Drew Gordon, Damon Powell Here's a re-cap of the Dunk Contest from the 3rd annual Sac vs. Bay showdown that took place at Newark Memorial High School this past weekend. The winner of the contest was Damon Powell of McClymonds High school, and also featured UCLA bound and runner-up Drew Gordon, Tyree McCarry, James Lake, Jovan Daniels, and Damien Lillard. Damon Powell quickly become the crowd favorite as he jumped over someone effortlessly for the dunk and later shut down the gym with his last two dunks. Watch to see for yourself. |
