ABBA: Agnetha Fältskog Björn Ulvaeus Benny Andersson Anni-Frid (Frida) Lyngstad Hands down one of the greatest songs ever recorded. | | ABBA-Mamma Mia "Mamma Mia" is a song from ABBA's third album, ABBA, written by Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Stig Anderson.[1], with the lead vocals shared by Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. ABBA's ubiquitous single initially topped the charts in 1975 in Australia for 11 weeks, where the band was possibly more popular than anywhere else at this point. At the time, it was rumoured that every third citizen of the country owned an ABBA record. It was almost entirely due to this overwhelming success that the single was subsequently, but reluctantly, released in the UK and other territories. While never released as a single in their native Sweden, "Mamma Mia" was one of the act's first songs to make a breakthrough in the UK. It took the single nearly two months after it was released to top the UK charts. Interestingly, Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" (the No.1 single that preceded "Mamma Mia" on the charts) also contained the words 'Mamma Mia' in the lyrics. The single was released in the United States in January 1976, where it took twenty weeks to rise up the Billboard Hot 100, eventually peaking at #32. The single's popularity was boosted by a promotional music video, in which one of the singers ... | | ABBA- Mamma Mia (with Lyrics) Another famous song from the swedish band, called ABBA. This show was part of a promotional tour to publicise her first solo album after Abba, which was called "Wrap Your Arms Around Me". The album reached No.1 in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Belgium and Denmark. Here she sings the title track from the album. This song had limited release as a single, but still reached No.1 in Belgium and No.3 in Holland. Her whispering technique here is as hot as anything you will ever see in a song. She censors it herself by turning her back completely to the audience. As always Agnetha does not hold back in her performances. This will set your temperatures rising alright! Lyrics: (Mike Chapman, Holly Knight) Wrap your arms around me... When you're so far away, at the end of each day Counting the moments till you fade away, Inside my soul, under passion's control Are feelings I can't find the words to explain, Just like the first time I'm helpless again, Wrap your arms around me, let your love surround me Make love to me now like never before, Wrap your arms around me, from the day you found me You'll never be alone. The nights are so cold, with just your memory to hold I've tried to be strong, reaching out holding on Alone in my bed, I cling to each word you said, Wanting you more everyday we're apart, And each precious moment is safe in my heart, Wrap your arms around me, let your love surround me Make love to me now like never before, Wrap your arms around me, from the ... | | ABBA-Dancing Queen Special "Dancing Queen" is the biggest hit single recorded by Swedish pop group ABBA, and as such is considered to be their signature song. The song was written by Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Stig Anderson, recorded in 1975 for the group's album Arrival, and released as a single the following year. "Dancing Queen" features a shared lead vocal performance by Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. Its opening keyboard glissando and hummed vocals are one of the most identifiable sections of 1970s pop music. Like a majority of ABBA songs, "Dancing Queen" is relatively straight-forward; it's about a seventeen-year-old girl having a good time on a Friday night. She is not fazed by the social and political pressures in her daily life as a teenager on the dancefloor, and all she wants to do is dance, no matter the identity of her dancing partner. "Dancing Queen" recording sessions began August 4, 1975; the demo was called 'Boogaloo', and as the sessions progressed, Andersson and Ulvaeus found inspiration to the dance rhythm in George McCrae's disco classic "Rock Your Baby", as well as the drumming on Dr. John's 1972 album Gumbo. Faltskog and Lyngstad recorded the vocals on sessions in September, and the track was completed three months later. During the sessions, Benny brought a tape home with the backing track on it and played it to his future wife Anni-Frid, who started crying when listening. Quote: "I found it so beautiful". While working on the lyrics, part of the verse was ... | | ABBA : SOS - Live Vocals (HD) Great live vocal performance here from German TV Agnetha and Frida keeping the heat turned up with these short 'cat suits' Thanks for the many kind comments "SOS", originally called "Turn Me On", was the third single from their self-titled 1975 album, It was released with "Man in the Middle" as the B-side. Agnetha Fältskog also recorded the song in Swedish on her 1975 solo album "Elva kvinnor i ett hus". "SOS" (Björn Ulvaeus,Benny Andersson,Stig Anderson) Where are those happy days, they seem so hard to find I tried to reach for you, but you have closed your mind Whatever happened to our love? I wish I understood It used to be so nice, itused to be so good So when you're near me, darling can't you hear me SOS The love you gave me, nothing else can save me SOS When you're gone How can I even try to go on? When you're gone Though I try how can I carry on? You seem so far away though you are standing near You made me feel alive, but something died I fear I really tried to make it out I wish I understood What happened to our love, it used to be so good watch in HD.. www.youtube.com | | ABBA : Knowing Me Knowing You (Live Last Concert '81) Dick Cavett Heartbreaking live version of this song, performed here for the last time in their home town, Stockholm, April 1981 recorded for the DCTV Show.
