Congrats, Kellie!Kellie Pickler, America's small town sweetheart, sings the song she co-wrote about her mom who left when she was two.This is one of Kellie's best performances ever of "I Wonder." The Country Music Award audience gave a standing ovation after Kellie tearfully spoke the words, "I'm in Tennessee." Kellie's little brother Eric was crying as Kellie's best friend from Albemarle held him up so he could see his big sister above the crowd. Words can hardly describe the emotion that night.Ironically, Fox 8 in High Point, NC aired an interview with Kellie's "missing mom" Cynthia Malone on their 10 pm broadcast, just as Kellie was about to go on stage live in Nashville.From the Country Music Awards (CMA) show in Nashville, Tennessee on November, 7 2007.NOTE: The lady introducing Kellie is Kimberly Williams-Paisley, star of "According to Jim" and wife of country singer Brad Paisley.  | Kellie Pickler - Bohemian Rhapsody This is a Signature Song.Every singer/band has one.'Bohemian Rhapsody,' simply stated, IS 'Queen.'Kellie Pickler is the bubbly bouncy country gal who turned in good and not-so-good performances.She was very memorable.Very ditzy.Very cute.But could she pull off this Queen trademark? I don't think she did.But in this rare case, I don't think it matters.The song started out ok.She looked rather Zombie-ish, with the dark eye shadow and platinum blonde frizzy hair.And the part where she's supposed to let loose and rip the stage apart with hardcore animal-like rage, she holds back and resorts to simple knee bouncing and angry head-shaking at Simon.But, did we expect this to be 'great?'Or...Did we expect it to be Kellie?Did we all think 'Queen' week would be the time where she had some sort of an epiphany and where she'd begin singing better?She did what she did best: Be Herself.And while the 'animal-like' rage was more like 'mean kitty,' it worked.Cause it was the most memorable and the most fun. |

(Prank starts about 1:16.)Rising country star Kellie, from nearby Albemarle, was one of the opening acts on Paisley's Bonfires and Amplifiers Tour. (Taylor Swift and Jack Ingram also appear on tour.)Because the audio isn't so clear, here's some of what they say (not exact) after finishing the song, "Dixieland Delight." (Thanks to Robert of KellieFans.com for this.)==After he finished the song, Kellie still on stage, Brad struck back a little. Ignoring Kellie, he said, "let's all give a big round of applause for Taylor Swift, wasn't she great! And Jack Ingram was great too, wasn't he?" (or something to that effect). Kellie, flapped her hands at him, dissing him for ignoring her in his comments. He then came back with "And Kellie Pickler....(loud applause and hollering).....will not be working with us after tonight's show!" |
