 | Actress Alfre Woodard Makes her Stand for Barack Obama Emmy-winning, Oscar-nominated actress Alfre Woodard called upon Americans of all stripes to vote in Super Tuesday's election no matter which candidate they chose, saying it was crucial in a passionate video interview: "You have to stand up and take responsibility. This is not the SuperBowl or 'American Idol,' you have to get out and vote. Fundamental change after the last eight years isn't just a campaign slogan, it's a necessity." She was even more ardent in her support for Barack Obama for president. He is "insightful, balanced and inspired, she told the Hollywood Today cameras at a recent Hollywood luncheon for advocacy group Creative Coalition. "He has the ability to bring disparate people together to solve problems," she said. "That's the true historic thing that's about to happen -- not that he's not a woman, not that he happens to be African American, it's that we would be putting a thinker in who has the ability to work for the common good."
