I believe the merit of this clip speaks for itself. The "zebras" in this movie, by the way, were actually just regular old horses with stripes spray painted on them. She is best known for her rich vocals similar to legendary country music singer Patsy Cline, and her rise to fame at the age of 13, becoming the youngest country music star since Tanya Tucker in 1972. Rimes made her breakthrough into country music in 1996. Her debut album, Blue, reached #1 on the Top Country Albums chart and was certified "multi-platinum" in sales by the Recording Industry Association of America. The album's lead single of the same name (originally intended to be recorded by Patsy Cline in the early 1960s) became a Top 10 hit. With immediate success, Rimes attained widespread national acclaim for her similarities to Cline's vocal style. When Rimes released her sophomore studio effort in 1997, You Light up My Life: Inspirational Songs, Rimes went more towards country pop material, which would set the trend for a string of albums that would be released into the next decade. Since her debut, Rimes has won many major industry awards, which include two Grammys, three ACMs, one CMA, twelve Billboard Music Awards, and one American Music award.[4] In addition, Rimes has also released ten studio albums and four compilation albums through her record label of 13 years, Asylum-Curb, and placed over forty singles on American and international charts since 1996. 1996: Blue After signing with Curb, Rimes re-recorded a ... | | Tanya Roberts & France Zobda on "Sheena" (1984) PLEASE READ THIS - This clip was created to embed in one of my web pages about this film: terrororstralis.com The segment was lifted from a documentary called "Investigating Tarzan", which was directed by Alain d'Aix in 1997. The film examines the historical and cultural impacts of Edgar Rice Burroughs' enduring jungle hero. I apologise for the poor quality sound. If you have a better quality copy of this documentary on DVD please contact me: pwgr@optusnet.com.au | | Trailer - Sheena (1984) PLEASE READ THIS - This video was uploaded to Youtube specifically to embed in one my web pages about this film: terrororstralis.com This was first feature film about the blonde Fiction House jungle heroine to receive wide commercial release. Three episodes of the Irish McCalla television series, "Sheena Queen of the Jungle" (1955-56), were hobbled together to make a shoddy feature film called "Queen of the Jungle", possibly for the European market, but nothing is known about where or when it was released. See my web page about his film: terrororstralis.com The 1984 "Sheena" starred Tanya Roberts as Sheena; Ted Wass as Vic Casey, a reporter; Donovan Scott as Fletch, his photographer/partner; Elizabeth of Toro as the Zambuli Shaman; France Zobda as Countess Zabda; and Trevor Thomas as Prince Otwani. It was filmed on location in Kenya and was directed by John Guillerman, who also directed "Tarzan's Greatest Adventure" (1959), "Tarzan Goes to India (1962), "The Towering Inferno (1974), and "King Kong" (1976). "Sheena" was univerally panned by critics but has developed a cult following, principally because of the the film's tanned, muscular and scantily-clad leading lady. |
