It was also announced that SBIFF will present a "Tribute To Julie Christie" on Friday, January 25 at the Lobero Theater. Christie will share a dialogue with Leonard Maltin about her recent experiences with her latest film, "Away From Her" and her body of work, along with movie clips and a montage. Over the length of Christie's career it has been said that she is "the most poetic of all actresses," mimicking her life after the socially conscious characters she has portrayed on screen. That is evident in "Away From Her," a beautiful yet unconventional love story, written and directed by Sarah Polley for which Christie has already received Golden Globe and SAG nominations, as well as Best Actress honors from the National Board of Review, National Society of Film Critics, the New York Film Critics Circle , among other notable critics associations. She portrays Fiona, an Alzheimer's patient who is put in a nursing home by her husband. While in the facility she falls in love with another man who is also a patient. The husband's love for Fiona causes him to perform an act of self-sacrifice in order to ensure her happiness. A special screening of "Away From Her" will be shown earlier that day. | | Oskar Werner and Julie Christie: Volume II This is from the recent video I did of Oskar Werner and Julie Christie. It's the same one but with new pics and much longer! I was bored and when I was watching Fahrenheit 451 with my cousin, I decided to make a tribute to Oskar Werner, a handsome Austrian actor who played Montag and Julie Christie, a beautiful British actress, who played Linda Montag and Clarisse. When I saw the movie, me and my cousin thought they made a cute couple, so I decided to make a music video about them. Enjoy and tell me what you think. I screenshotted a few pics and found others on the internet. :D | | Lorraine Bowen - Julie Christie From the movie "Better Than Chocolate" | | AWAY FROM HER - Clip Check out this clip that showcases the performance of Academy Award nominee, Julie Christie in AWAY FROM HER a beautifully moving love story that deals with memory and its circuitous, enigmatic paths over the course of a long marriage. | | Radiant Julie Christie A tribute to one of my favorite actresses of the 60s, Julie Christie, whose glowing beauty and emotional depth is still as radiant as ever, an Oscar-winner for her role as an amoral model in "Darling" (1965) and who has lit up the screen in such epics as "Doctor Zhivago" (1965), "Far From The Madding Crowd" (1967) and "The Go-Between" (1971). And she just recently scored another Oscar nomination (three after "Darling"). She always has an emotional intelligence that shows that there's more to her than her lovely face and figure. I used "Bus Stop", the 60s hit by the British Group, The Hollies as the theme music. Hope you enjoy it!(My apologies for how the song skips slightly in the beginning, I have no idea what caused that).DISCLAIMER: All photos, stills, clips and music are copyrighted to their respective owners.
