 | The Glory Hole - Lake Berryessa A Bottomless Pit? No, but never swim near a water hole like this. bradsdomain.com If you do see one of these, you're too close, and you better paddle your butt off to get away! This really is called the Glory Hole named by local folks long before the term or words "Glory Hole" were considered pornographic. Monticello Dam at Lake Berryessa in Napa County, CA. hosts this drain also referred to as the "Morning Glory". The reason it is called the "Black Hole" by Pilots of airlines or helicopters is because that's what they see from the sky (A Black Hole) when the "Glory Hole" is in action. The Glory Hole has not been seen in action at Monticello Dam in Lake Berryessa since this video was taken back in MAY of 2007.  | Hole in hand It is no mirror nor rotoscoping. I sticked a green paper on my hand and used a greenscreen technique, to reveal second footage of my head. Thats why it may seems kinda cheezy, because I quite didnt mimic the first head movement perfectly. As fot the "3D" effect, its done by simple scaling down the layer by a few percent and coloring it to red. There is even a tutorial here on the youtube.  | Vulcan Mini Gun A re-work of a Nerf Vulcan mini-gun by adding spinning barrels. Shot on a Panasonic SD5 and edited in FCE4. Instructions on building this mini-gun: I cut the barrel off of the Nerf Vulcan with a bandsaw, leaving the last 2 5/8" of it and the ridge above it. At that point I separated the gun itself into its two halves by removing the many screws, being careful to note how it all has to go back together. Next, I created the 6 barrel assembly by cutting one length of PVC ½" ID tubing into 6 equal lengths at 8 ¼". I cut one additional piece at 7 to act as a sleeve to cover the center rod, or axel that the barrels turn on. I then cut 4 4" dia. disks out of MDF (medium density fiberboard) on a bandsaw, 3* out of ½" and 1 out of ¼", which are the barrel supports. I stacked 2 of the ½" disks, with the ¼" one in the center and using masking tape, I taped them all together. Using a protractor and compass, I laid out the barrel pattern and with a drill-press I drilled the 6 7/8" dia. holes with a paddle bit for the barrels and one ¼" hole in the center of each for the ¼" dia. threaded rod, which spins the thing. I counter-sank both end pieces slightly so the sleeve covering the threaded rod would stay in the center. I put it all together, using a nut at each end of the rod to pull end pieces against the center sleeve, aligned the barrels and secured them with drywall screws. I painted the barrel assembly, because I knew I wasn't going to be able to reach everything once I got it ... |

How to make the princess cake instructions (some may say this is similar to a Bratz or Barbie birthday cake) Assembling the princess birthday cake: 1. Bake three cakes in 8-inch round cake pans and one cake in a medium ovenproof glass bowl. Let cakes cool. 2. Cut off the dome off all of the 8-inch round cakes with a serrated knife. (Freezing the cake for about 45 minutes before you cut them will reduce the crumbs). 3. Cut a small hole in the middle of each layer; this is where the princes doll will go. 4. To keep your decorating surface clean while you frost, slide pieces of parchment paper underneath the bottom layer. 5. Using your offset spatula, place a dollop of frosting on one of the layers of cake, and spread it evenly. Place another layer on top, frost it, and place the last layer on top. Frost the top of the last 8-inch round cake and top with the cake baked in the overproof glass bowl (domed side up). 6. Make a crumb coat. This is a thin layer of frosting that seals in the crumbs and keeps the frosting clean and neat. Spread the frosting over the entire surface of the cake. To make the frosting smooth, take a strip of paper, cup it and place it at the bottom of the cake, sliding it evenly to the top of the cake. 7. Spread the frosting smooth around the hole in the top. 8. Freeze the cake for about 45 minutes to set ... |
