 | Olga Kurylenko in Le Serpent (music movie trailer) The actress Olga Kurylenko (the new Bond girl in Quantum of Solace) in clips from the movie Le Serpent, in a video edit project I made in the style of a music video.I wanted to show how Olga K is a good actor in this cool movie that has not had much exposure outside France. She shows what her film character is feeling & thinking without using words. All actors try to do that but somehow Olga is very expressive. She has an interesting look, sometimes beautiful but always interesting. Maybe she has that type of face that is great for actors, that allows them to easily show emotions. I like that in this movie there is some uncertainty about her character's motives and character, you are not sure if she is "good" or "bad".There has been a lot of media coverage recently of the life of jazz pianist Oscar Peterson. I thought his version of I Love Paris would be good in this video. The song says "I Love Paris in the Springtime", and you could change that to "I Love Olga in Le Serpent..." and make a new song.Oscar Peterson's music evokes different emotions as proceeds and I tried to place the movie clips so that their emotional content matches the feeling of the music, while also telling the movie story. The goal is to use the emotional alignment of music and movie to strengthen the impact of the resulting video. The editor must deal with several factors at once and try to get them lined up: the music emotion, the movie emotion, the movie story, and time.The 4 other actors shown from Le Serpent are well-known in France but mostly unknown elsewhere: Clovis Cornillac, Jean-Claude Bouillon, Pierre Richard, and Yvan Attal. Yvan is in the Jackie Chan movie Rush Hour 3.Maybe Le Serpent will come out on DVD in North America, it was released in subtitled form in the UK as "The Snake".The video looks decent with the newly improved YouTube resolution, although at certain points it looks a bit jumpy or jerky.If you are wondering about what is going on in the movie/video storyline, without giving away much I can say that the older man and the photographer are targets of the younger bearded man who is the villain. Sofia (Olga) is working for the villain, maybe under duress. I better not say more in case you will be seeing the movie. |
